In essence you can buy gold and silver from Bairds. Prices are very competitive. You don’t pay VAT on gold in the UK.
silver bars are very well priced at the moment due to the premium hikes seen with other dealers.

HB is the cheapest, chards with postage for a single coin is much higher.  I dont see why there is a debate on that.  Using the price of buying 10+ coins v single from HB is not like for like and most of us buy 1 at a time

Finally took delivery of this solitary 250g Heraeus Silver Bar today …

… purchased before ‘the great premium inflation’ set in …

Hey Troy, keep your eyes peeled on The Royal Mint site, about once every couple of days last week they released full tubes of Horse of Hanover and other QB’s, for £320 pre tax.
Move had some of the fastest deliveries from RM over the last few weeks than I’ve EVER had. NDD on 12/15 packs, 2DD on 2 and only 1 on 3 days!

Just received my 100 oz from Baird & Co today. Ordered March 31st and delivered in Belgium on April 6th. Doesn't seem to be any delay for this product. Keep in mind the time for an international wire transfer to be confirmed and shipping from UK to Belgium, this was quite a fast order process.

I decided to hold off and wait for silver to calm down.
I bought some coins before things got really mad but Im going to hold off bars. Will get a few bars when things hopefully normalize on the premium front.
    Im hoping I dont regret:)

Ah, you mean H&B!. I thought you were talking about pencils for a moment.
This is the (pedantic) Chard guy.
I think there is a whole thread somewhere about Harrington and Byrne, or if there isn't, it seems like it. Most members of TSF will know that they run regular newspaper adverts offering the current year's gold sovereigns at loss leader prices. Most are savvy enough to know there is a catch. If you are gullible enough to buy any of their follow-up offers, they make their loss back on your first subsequent purchase.
They also use "Bait and Switch", as some members know. It is probably illegal in the UK, and is certainly unethical. It is apparently very common in the U.S.A., where there seems to be a sucker born every minute. I just found the previous TSF link:

I am not surprised they have run out of stock of 2020 bullion sovereigns, even with their artificial limit of 3 per household.
You might expect me to advise TSF members to avoid dealing with them, but no, I would encourage all TSF members to buy their maximum of 3 sovereigns every year (obviously, do check their prices), we do! If enough sensible people bought them, though, they would almost certainly change their devious policy, but while it continues, take advantage of it. So, my suggestion is, wait until they re-start offering them, then buy your maximum of three. If you don't want that many, I am sure other TSF members would, including us.
If you want to buy from us, I will be happy about it, and we do not have any limit on quantity. As you probably know, we also offer price breaks for quantity purchases. Welcome to the real world.
Alert! We do not have any in stock as I write this. We are expecting a delivery this week, which we hope will include 500+ x 2020 bullion sovereigns, but these were all sold a few weeks ago, and will get posted out within about 48 hours of our receipt. We are also waiting to buy at least another 1,000 of them to meet orders, and leave us some "free" stock. On second thoughts, 2,000 would be better.
Further alert. We do not know when we will get the next batch. We do not deal directly with the Royal Mint. It appears they have improved considerably since we used to deal with them, but they are still not renowned for being pro-actively informative, even at the best of times. Currently, we are still happy to accept orders for them, but strictly on the understanding that there will be delays in deliveries, and we are labelling these as "indefinite". We take a considerable risk in selling "short", but we hedge that risk against our other stock, and also by hedging. Last week, we bought about £1.5 million worth of gold, and yesterday we agreed to buy 4.5 kilos of new gold bars we were offered. There is a slight cost to hedging in this way, but it works to insure us against big jumps in gold prices.
I didn't answer your question (started to feel like a politician). I seem to remember we did one or two special offers for TSF members, where we offered "free" (included) postage, but that was when Lizzie was with us. We may have some more TSF specials in future, when things get back to normal.
We not only do not offer free delivery, but explain why, and that it is an illusion.
Here is a link to one of our blog pages: https://www.chards.co.uk/blog/free-postage/26
    We mention H&B here: (I should re-read it) https://www.chards.co.uk/blog/2019-sovereign-information-and-buying-advice/335
Mainly  for fun, I Googled "No Such Thing as Free Delivery", and took a  screenshot:

I then also Googled "Free Delivery":

    and lastly "Free Lunch"

I am of course delighted to see that our price including postage is still one of the cheapest, whether it is for 2020, "Minty", or "Newly Minted". I did not check our stock status for these last two categories, but if we are out of stock, we would probably not accept orders on them.
Thanks for the mention, I hope my answer was not too long (or boring).

If you're not interested in art and don't have much knowledge of the industry I'd say you'd be better using your time to focus on what you do know, especially in the current climate. Having gone through 2008 the next few years is likely to be tough for 90% of the art industry. There will be opportunities in the flipping game if that's what you're into but alot less than the previous years, even in the urban art print release game as alot of end buyers of that market will have alot less disposable income, you'll need to be much more selective on which artists to focus on. On the plus side if you're cash rich theres likely to be alot of opportunities to buy good work at lower prices with volume needing to sell quick. It took a year or so last time around then a flood of work hit the market. My advice is if you're thinking you'll be selling in the next 6-12months nows probably a better time if you can get a decent price, I wouldn't sit back too long to see how it's going to unfold. If you sell now you could still get a good price, if you wait you'll either get a good price as before or loose a chunk/struggle to sell, it's unlikely much will be going up so holding on too long has negative possibilities but no real plus marks. Hopefully it'll all be fine and dandy though 😀

Me too. As previously stated, even including VAT and rather high shipping cost it's the best deal out there atm for silver.
I wonder how long it will take for Baird & Co. to be sold out.
