Not sure why you say 'Russia's alleged (and dubious) gold reserves of 40,000 tonnes' - sounds like you want it to be untrue - and if you begrudgingly accepted it is true you are making efforts to downplay this. Sounds like you have an agenda here. There are a number of members on the forum who have some issues - call me paranoid but i suspect some of them as agents - like i had to deal with on my COVID thread. That what's @Minimalist and i think anyway.

Russia and China like with most things, keep a veil of secretcy around their gold holdings. The only thing all are in agreement to is they are under declaring what they hold, for obvious reasons I would suggest.
backing your currency with gold , or anything is tangible beats the fiat c**p system we currently have. Unfortunately the states lead this with all the deception it entails. 

Both China and Russia have at least 40 000 tonnes of gold each. They will back some aspect of their currencies. China has a digital yuan. Russia is looking like they will have a digital rouble next year. Gold is being used in trading. The weaponisation of the dollar and Swift looks beyond stupid in those terms. Keep stacking at least you will have some gold b/c the US doesn't have any.

i was just posting a tweet by a senior Chinese diplomat in the Middle East.
The first thing the US does when it invades a country is to steal the gold. That's common knowledge i thought.

The bars in the film are pristine shiny bars with Arabic on the top. This an actual clip from the film where they discover the bars.

So the images in the tweet posted by the Consul at the Chinese Embassy in Lebanon are not taken from the film you mention. i take these to be genuine images - someone in his position in the Middle East is someone who could well have access to the genuine photographs.

The bosses of the oil business - Russia and Saudi have been selling to China in yuan for several years. i heard of suggestions that Saudi would be selling in yuan as far back as 2016. If you pour through Saudi Aramco paperwork you can find the company has been selling yuan denominated bonds. For sure Saudi has been selling oil to China in yuan  since September 2019. This is all part of global de-dollarisation which on the whole goes under the radar. 
i note that Saudi and UAE has refused to increase production - start cutting off Russian oil and you have an oil crisis in Europe. Russia is not alone. There are many old scores to be settled.
Having the world reserve currency is a privilege which comes with responsibilities. The US started abusing the dollar back in the 1960's and reneged on Breton Woods in 1971. The US has used the dollar as a weapon - sanctions are threatened at the drop of a hat. They have killed the dollar - we are now witnessing the funeral.
