First ever US coin purchase as 2016 certainly was a memorable year for the US  and kept it simple with two 2016 1/4 oz eagles from@Numistacker
 

2017 1/10 Brit from Atkinsons.  Postman just posted it through without a signature.  Convenient for me since I was out so saves me a trek to pick it up from the sorting office.
Came OMP but I've trimmed it down to fit into a capsule so I can store it with the rest.

Well worth it in my opinion

Some US pickups, some from MCM (silver slabs and QB griffns), Choice Bullion (fractional gold 1/10, 1/20 Libertads), Son Montuno and Coin Shoppe (silver Libertads proofs) and and some today from my favourite coin shop in CA - Oxbridge Coins in San Francisco (quarter eagle and the 1967 sov). 
Unluckily though some of my other orders got delayed and will have to rest in the US until my next trip - so I will post those when I get them! 
Pleased with the gold Eagle quarter (my first), - and I love the detail on the MS70 Dragon & Phoenix. Also my first ever silver Panda...probably will not be collecting them though.

Got a 2017 silver QB proof from Arshi
Arshis packaging was much better than the RM's
He told me the coins he got from the RM had minor spots but I still asked him to send me one anyway, pleasantly surprised as it's an almost perfect coin, tiny dot and some very very minor specs that here that could be just dust, very pleased overall, beautiful coin. 

My 1st gold sovereign arrived safe and sound today. Flickering between 8.00g and 7.99g sounds about right

Newest additions to the collection 2017 If off to a great start - Queens Beast 2 ounce Lion and Griffin - PCGS MS-69 and a run of American Silver eagles from 1986 to 1992 in a capital plastic holder. I like the coins in the Slab as they are easier to store and show then in regular capsules and I like the flag.

Having just read "Rich Dad Poor Dad", I am now half way through "From zero to financial independence in less than 10 years". I love the idea of cumulative interest and money working for me so It has inspired me to attempt my own financial independence within 10 years - and what better time to start than the beginning of a new year ... so I need an investment plan!
Currently I am lightly invested in PMs, a couple of Mining and Potash shares. Although I don't spend much anyway I plan to cut back even further to reach my goal.
Property has done well for many people in the past but my view is that this won't continue ... although I might be wrong as I need to research property investment further. I am also a bit cautious of PMs at the moment as I really wasn't expecting them to drop as much as they have recently, especially with all the debt around and the printing of money.
1) I assume most people on here are pretty economically clued up and financially savvy so was wondering what other people see as good areas to invest in for the coming couple of years???
2) Does anyone else have one of these plans in place?

Think this series is great, lovely coin and to the eye looks flawless, i think condition is going to overall be better than the lion 1/4s, though there is a strange amount of "pimples" ? around the edge that i can only see with these macro shots
