Today my French lunar rooster finally arrived.
Can anyone shed any light on this French series as I think I've completed the series. 2006 when I think it started was BU with a mintage of 10,000. Around halfway through the series it went to proof at 10,000 mintage then dropped to 5,000 mintage at proof.
It seems like a strange way to run a series and it'll be interesting to see what they do next year.

2014 Britannia gold proof coin set..150 Mintage

3 Coin 2017 Sovereign set from the Royal Mint.  Came yesterday but I missed the delivery by 10 mins so had to collect this morning.  I've included a pic of the 3 coins with a normal sovereign and also overlaid the normal sovereign over the 2017 double.  I think the double shows off the design best due to the garter reducing the size of G&D.

Two sovereigns from Highland Tiger. One of which was a very nice 1873 Melbourne sovereign.
No more sending coins in envelopes though!

Also my proof half 2017 sov arrived a few days after my full sov. is it just me or is the 2017 sov not as wide as the usual bullion ones?

I won a 2oz silver perth rooster from Chards in a competition! it arrived today with a nice note from them. I was very chuffed as I never win anything!

For the record $571 (464 gbp) delivered from a reputable dealer that mostly deals with ancient coins. I think that is an ok price having checked a bit beforehand and subsequently. I forced myself to move fairly quickly as it seemed a good price. Apmex is selling one on ebay for $1,300 (1,056 gbp). Then again, one on another forum sold for $750 (610 gbp) last June. So hopefully I haven't lost money.

A 2017 silver Britannia from Yorkshire bullion on eBay. Got a 1oz Asahi silver bar from them the other day as well.

It looks like a I.E.B variety to me, considerably more rare? I'd like some opinions here as i don't yet have Marsh's half sov book, and google returns a little info but more on the Sydney variety of which there are only 3 examples of this

Picked up this 1/4 sovereign, does anyone know where its from?  I thought a tristan da cunha as this portrait of the queen looks like theirs but i can't find a reference to it
edit: Just noticed the TDC on the obverse . Would still be interested if someone could find a mintage figure for me!
Looks much nicer in hand than photos, its pretty small and i rushed the photos just now

A couple of cheap and cheerful old silver coins, nothing expensive just love old stuff.
I would go for a higher grade but the prices get into sovereign territory and I think I would go for gold over silver most times. 
If I'm wrong please tell me ?
