Great information here thanks for taking the time to write the article, I'm sure many will find it helpful and beneficial when they come to do a sales post!

Personally I like both half and full sovereign coins. They are both liquid coins, yes the half has a slight premium over the full, but normally this is representative in the re-sale price also. So unless your selling to a dealer there is huge disadvantage from my point if view.

Some really good clean clear photos on here, great to see the variety of knowledgeable people on here sharing information not just on coins.

seems everyone is more interested in the photo then trying to answer the question of what are the likely hood of this coin being a fake
Not sure what you looking for as an answer, people commented on the photo as that's the best way of judging if the coin you are talking about appears fake. If its a general quest, again people have asked why do you think this particular coin? There is a chance that all coins could be be fake, if some one has faked them. Even if not at the time of original releaseor any time in the last 100 years'ish.... are you hoping for a response of yes 100% some people have specifically faked a 1925 SA hald Sovereign?

Does seem to be slowly creeping up now. Spot price went up over 1% today

Is there a way to click on a profile of an individual and see their selling post. Have notice in some topics where in general discussion user "X" has "Y" for sale. But then you can't quickly find it in the sales area.

Hello and welcome, if you have any questions then just ask

Also, can I ask why no VAT on things bought here
Personal sales are by default not subject to VAT. 2nd hand from shop may still charge full VAT or margin VAT.

Scales to weigh, dial calipers to measure, the Internet to find the details that it should be, is the most simplistic answer. (Can start doing water displacement for density check if you want). Something like a sigma metal test machine, though this may be going overboard depending on you budget and outlays.
