Finally bought the 2011 gold half ounce rabbit and a Mexican 20 Peso. I am not used to paying this kind of premium for gold but I have been after the rabbit for a long time now and the Mexican collection is now complete.

Personally I think preservation of wealth is a good enough reason alone to be holding silver, everyone must see that traditional monetary policy has been turned on it's head and it can't possibly go on like this for ever.  I was hoping to get to 1000 oz in physical to have and hold for just such a reason then switch to ETF's so I could do what HT suggests and get in and out quickly with profit.

    What did you get?

5 sterling silver dinner forks. 1844 fully hallmarked. I'm getting quite good with my hallmarks now. It's fascinating stuff and I've picked up several items at scrap value but were made by very collectable makers or have regional city marks which make them worth quite a bit more than scrap. I love history and to be able to pick up items over 200 years old is a bit of a buzz.

I find "collecting" these items can be much more profitable than coins. Unlike coins. sellers quite often don't know what they have and with a little knowledge bargains can be had on a regular basis.

I'm seriously considering selling all my coins and going into sterling flatware exclusively. It gets my collector genes and researcher genes going, as well as being easy to sell when needed. I can buy below spot regularly. The usual ebay tricks of mispelt words and phrases often throw up bargains (much more than you see in the coin category). But items correctly spelt and correctly described nearly always go for well over spot even after ebay fees.
Oh yes I nearly forgot, I can also get the Goddards out without being made to feel as though I have committed some cardinal sin.

Plenty of bargains on ebay. Took me 5 mins and a BIN offer and I have another 11 ozt of silver for under spot at £11.27 an oz.
    This is easy money

In terms of price in gold, silver at under 1/80th of an oz is about as big of a "no brainer" in the world of investment and stack building as you can get!
In terms of fiats, I was hoping to be able to grab some silver at sub-£10, but now would consider a pullback to sub-£11 as a good buying opportunity.
I think these prices may be a dim and distant memory before too long and we will all talk of the time when silver was on sale and talk about how we were buying it hand over fist when no one else was interested. At least my greed allows me to dream of such days to come..

I bought one shield back on the same day at around the same time as you Silverin and I have to say it was in great condition.  Still with the mint lustre which you can't really see from a picture.  Excuse the crappy pic but it was just taken using this iPad because I'm too lazy to get a camera out and bother transferring a decent picture.

@ApisMellifera That is an excellent way to look at TA.
    That said whenever someone mentions TA I always think of this for some reason;
To stay on topic - I am glad I bought several kilos of silver from Germany and Arshi over the last few months. Need £13.01 an ounce before break even though. Lets see how I feel about it in 6 months time once this bull trap is over!

Nanjing Mint 5g Lunar Monkey Colourised Note - Compensation for a damaged order
China World Heritage Brass 2016 Beijing Imperial Palace 2 - Collecting silver in this series is too expensive since I started late and missed out on the first few.  Premiums are far too high for me now.
2016 150g Panda - This will be a spare and has come in the OMP which is a bonus.  Originally supplied in sheets of 3 but most of the time suppliers cut them from the pouches so that they can be inserted into the coin slot.

I'm learning/researching TA at the moment and do find it a very useful measuring tool. I'm using it in combination with the fundamentals... but... at the end of the primary focus is to keep building the stack. I see TA similar as weather prediction, no one really can predict the weather accurately but you can get a rough idea where it could go to prepare yourself
@vand I can't seem to find that Daily Reckoning article at the moment. Do you have a link? Would be interested to read   Kiyosaki is hardcore stacker and has been stacking since the 70's when gold was in $30-40 p/Oz and silver at $2-5 p/Oz, and he still thinks that the current PM prices are low and thinks that one should have PM as protection/insurance.

loling at the hate for TA on here.
TA is not necessarily day-trading, and it isn't and either|or thing - it can be used in perfect harmony with fundamentals for timing purposes to make long term decisions. I have liked the fundamental case for silver but have steered clear of buying it until now because the technicals from late 2011-2015 have looked awful.
Or you can dismiss it and continue to take your tips from hucksters like Bob "2 Dads" Kiyosaki as @Paul eloquently called him who jumped on the bandwagon in 2011 AFTER the trend change and ridden it down to the bottom with him. Your choice. Michael Covel recently wrote about this on Daily Reckoning but it was pull down - no doubt Kiyosaki's lawyers have been on the blower.
For an example of EXCELLENT usage of TA in forming a long term picture, have a look at someone like Chris Aaron. He uses simple TA to form likely scenarios and long term forecasts which are far more well-formed that any wishy-washy Fundamentalists can put together.
Sorry it's USD price and getting away from the point of the thread, but relevant imo..

Received two more of these cook island kilos from silberling.de bought when spot was 10.60 - finally some luck on my timing! Standby for silver prices to collapse now that I have jumped in again
Also received a 2015 sovereign bought on Ebay with the 20% off voucher a while back, tests as 22 ct gold, right measurements all looking good. £178.50 delivered. Took ages to sort out because of my miscalculation on the required paypal balance which led to an echeck being initiated. Seller was very accommodating though, excellent in fact. Worth the wait at that price.

Been away this past week and came home to a few packages which my dad was kind enough to take in for me.  I think he just wanted to hang around my place to get away from my mum.
2016 Isle of Man Angel Reverse Proof - Quite nice.  Need to dig out the normal one to compare with.  Each master sheet comes with a hologram but I don't know how many coins there are to a master sheet.  Pretty sure my ten has been cut from a larger sheet.
2016 Burkina Faso Crocodile - Yet another one of the many many coins from Africa which MCI are knocking out at the moment.
2016 New Zealand Mint Endangered Species Giant Panda - I'm glad the series is now complete.  They were releasing far too many each year.
2008 1/4 Chinese Panda - Big thanks to @Kman spotting this at Atkinsons and posting in the deal section.  Came in a capsule but has been well looked after so I'm pretty happy with it.
