The stock market cant crash Its not like 1929 there are circuit breakers.If it falls more than a certain amount the market closes.The plunge protection team comes in props up the market plus all the people who are short take profits and buy the stock that crashed pushing prices back up.They will keep printing money to prop it up there will be hyperinflation of the currency supply but no actual hyperinflation as the only thing being inflated will be the stock market and the banks will own all of it.Do you think they would sell and take a loss at that point?Not on your life!Its the only game in town!Bonds would be worthless in that situation as the bonds are denominated in the currency thats being inflated causing a sell off and interest rates will skyrocket meaning governments everywhere would go bust!Of course the banks could just buy those too but if they don't taxes will rise dramatically and the government will try too squeeze every last drop out of people which will be the real problem.A despotic world government!If it sounds scary thats because it is!its a bit more complicated than that but thats what I reckon.Think of the whole economy as a casino and the banks are the casino bosses.Buying gold is like taking your chips off the table.Gold will go up because people will lose confidence in the money in a situation like that and try to hide it "off grid" so to speak a kind of run out of cash into anything but!What would set that kind of situation off at this moment in time with all the B.S. thats going on in the world?Take your pick!

First HGM purchase, expected it to be battered old date, pretty surprised when a 2014 turned up in this condition. to the eye looks almost proof, cannot see any of the things the macro lens pics up, looks completely mint

Just received this lovely little Geiger 100g bar.

After all my modern malarky adventures into modern silver semi numismatics, I had to get back to full numismatics. I used the excuse of going to get a recently purchased silver beast graded and Popped off to my local numismatic only shop and got an 1832 sovereign. They know me so gave me a 10% discount. I dragged my sleeping baby along as well......I am shameless Felt good to be back in gold numismatic sovs again and not guessing. Second bust type fyi.

Bought a 1 oz platinum maple and a couple of Canadian mint silver coins to look at just one of each. Wish I held on another day could have saved a fair few quid on the platinum!

Today i bought 2 x 1oz silver rounds from Silverstan's pre-loved range for my ASE tube.
Silver is silver arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh mateys.

Purchased a couple of 2oz silver beasts today to go with the two 1/4 oz gold beasts on their way soon. Bought locally so hoping for scratch free coins as the customer here is super demanding and do not tolerate imperfection on new coins, nor do the companies dish out imperfections to their customers. It would be a huge insult. Here is hoping.

Congrats, I liked the look of that bar ever since Mike listed it, but at 15oz it was above my budget.

My two gold Edward VII Perth mint Sovs - 1906 and 1907.  The 1907 has more definition - less wear, but pretty happy with both.  After paying auction fees etc they were about £249 each, averaging the two. Bit more than I posted yesterday..

Nothing too special just a Queen's Beast with an Ebay voucher and a 2016 Sov.

RCM 1 Oz coins - Gold, Silver, Platinum. The density of silver is approximately half that of platinum and gold, which in turn are very similar in density, platinum being slightly more so than gold;
 

Lets continue with the recent theme. Been on my wishlist for a while. Just stunning and in gorgeous condition, almost as good as it gets really.

Platinum maple and some silver to look at turned up today, The platinum maple is a heavy little coin, I was surprised by how small it is. It fits nicely into a double sov capsule. The pictures only show the sides worth seeing, I refuse to upload pictures of the 'other' side - it is an insult to her majesty's grace, god bless her

A silver 2 oz Niue Turtle (a new coin for me, and something to compare the 2 oz QB and Libertads with....), and a nice 10 oz 2016 Kookaburra - thanks to @SpacedMarine.  Lovely chunk of silver. 
Watching platinum - holding out for a bigger drop.
