So those charts use candles? 3 candles I could understand, maybe even 5. But they’re so open to misinterpretation when there’s 4.

GoodAsGold got a reaction from dicker in NGC Grading
I don’t have any Piedfort coins to grade but I would imagine that a nice chunky Piedfort might look undistinguished in a slab. I think I’d appreciate its thickness better in a capsule rather than a slab.
It would also irritate me when the NGC label states “Piefort” rather than the original “Piedfort” french translation for heavy foot, or heavy weight when it comes to coins.
Nothing to do with pies whatsoever.

Looks like IG Trading platform.
The coloured bars are known as 'candles' and each one represents a period of time (1 minute in this case indicated in top left)
A green candle - the price closed the time frame (1 minute in this case) higher than it started and red vice versa

We are a funny bunch gold stackers. I remember buying my lowest Oz gold I own. It's was a 1/2oz Aussie gold nugget and I paid £370. General consensus was moan moan moan gold should be £xxxx an Oz by now
Now gold is £xxxx an Oz we moan moan moan, I'm not buying at these ATHs
I've just always bought consistently every month SOMETHING gold. I've got a much bigger pile of gold accumulations than I would have doing technical analysis waiting to pick lows etc.
Lose the fiat attachment and just buy gold. The more gold grams you got the better

Cheers @cliveb13. I’ve been watching the £5 1989 sov for ages on Karl’s website (Mr 1817). The reason being that I want to get a rough idea what my own is worth.
My own 1989 long set was submitted for conservation and grading to NCS/NGC through Dave’s service last year and only the full £1 sov failed to achieve PF70 UC. That coin has recently been moved on (in response to Touvex’s wanted PF69 post) but the top grades £5, £2 and half are still with me on hold.
A weird market as you say, but hopefully not the new normal for much longer. I agree - we’ll see. Enjoy your big Platinum Jubilee gold coin when it arrives.

£ 2,425 when released by the RM @James32. That’s a bargain price for the raw coin. Daylight robbery for a PR70. Well done!

Congratulations Clive. A good purchase at a bargain price. My own is in the same FR label slab, albeit at the wrong side of £3K. You did well.

Thank you @GoodAsGold , & great username by the way
the market is weird at the moment & great coins are coming up, and some haxe surprisingly little real interest. I’ll cite this one & the 1989 2sov but also on Facebook there is a 1989 5sov 70 that has very surprisingly hung around longer than might be expected. Maybe this is the new normal and we can all expect to add exceptional coins to our collections at will. We’ll see
delighted though by my latest trade w @GoldDiggerDave

In ‘normal’ market conditions this coin would cost well in excess of £3k.
