  1. With respect, you’re both asking ‘how long is a piece of string’ at this stage. Wether @Allgoldcoins knows or not, they won’t be able to say otherwise. Maybe the proof mintage will be similar to the 2022 Platinum Jubilee sovereign or it may not. Difficult to call, but just to add, the last and the first of any monarch is usually the most popular, historically speaking.
  2. Maybe a chart of QC numbers might seem to be a good idea but I think the QC stickers won’t create any real correlation to faulty or otherwise pristine coins. I’m not sure what disability has to do with it but that joke is lost on me. Bad taste, unfortunately.
  3. The QC stickers appeared in late 2021, I think, during the fiasco of the proof 2022 Platinum Jubilee sovereigns of which many were delivered having ‘escaped’ from their capsules.
  4. Now £394 plus delivery.
  5. Two Old 9ct Gold Band Rings Ring A: This is the wider ring marked A in the photos, difficult to see the year mark despite the clear ‘375’ mark. Most likely a vintage wedding band, slightly off shape as can be seen in the photos. Size: R (UK Size) However, slightly misshapen but wearable. Weight: 2.4g Purity: 9ct Gold Makers Marks: RJ Assay mark: London £57.00 Ring B: This is the ring with the narrower band, marked B in photos. Hallmarked S.H for Samuel Hope of Birmingham. Which dates this ring to before the early 1960’s. Perfectly circular and like the day it was made and perfectly wearable. Size: P (UK Size) Weight: 2.2g Purity: 9ct Gold Makers Mark: S H Assay Mark: Birmingham £70.00 Both plus delivery of choice.
  6. 100g Umicore Silver Bar & 1900 Victoria Crowns 100 gram Umicore silver bar which oddly is not often seen often for sale on the forum. £105 plus delivery. Crown A. 1900 LXIV - sadly worn and slightly underweight but still, its a nice piece of history. £26 plus delivery. Crown B. 1900 LXIV - A good example of a late Victorian Crown, still has slight wear and minted in the penultimate year of Victorias reign. £44 plus delivery. Buy individually or buy all for £170 plus delivery. Any questions, please ask.
  7. 2020 Sovereign Photo of the coin for sale including the capsule. Bought in early 2020 when new. £398 £394 plus delivery. Any questions, please ask.
  8. @Darr3nG and @AndrewSL76 sorry to see you’ve both received these with issues. The 2022 platinum SOTD sovereigns weren’t without issues and from the ones I’ve seen they still graded well. I honestly think it’s because they’re rushed to mint them the same day. But that’s no excuse for poor quality.
  9. Thanks for sharing. Although not everyone will agree with me I think his portrait has been very well depicted on coins for his age. He looks dignified but yet looks like he’s carrying the weight of the country on his shoulders or head. I noticed that watching the Coronation and felt quite sorry for him. It’s not a job I’d want. I could be wrong but I sort of see him as the Edward VII of our time, a Prince of Wales in waiting to be King and possibly only one portrait of his reign. Quite sad really when you think of it.
  10. 2016 100th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic A nice proof 2016 .999 coin issued by the Central Bank of Ireland for the 100th anniversary of the Irish Republic. This includes the original gloss box and the interesting information leaflet. Year of issue: 2016 Quality: Proof Diameter: 22mm Alloy: Fine Gold .999 Denomination: €50 Weight: 7.8g Edge: Milled Quantity: 5,500 (limited mintage) COA Number: 2400 As you will see, there is a small white mark inside the capsule by the ‘U’ of Euro. This is on the capsule only and isn’t on the coin. There is also a feint scratch on the harp side and this is also on the capsule and not the coin. The scratch moves on the capsule as the capsule is turned. I wanted to point this out to any perspective buyers. Price: £495 plus Special Delivery. UK delivery only but I would consider courier delivery to Rep of Ireland. Payment by bank transfer.
  11. As the gold price continues to rise half sovereigns will be in high demand. Its better to have a half of something than a half of nothing if it fulfils your gold buying goals. Either that or we’ll all be cutting full sovereigns in half to sell like they did in Medieval times with hammered coins.
  12. 10 carat and the Superman logo? It’s most likely a makers mark.
  13. @n1k0s this is ‘ghosting’ and is common with George V sovereigns. It is basically when the coin is struck, the obverse slightly intrudes into the reverse. I’ve also seen this with Gillick Queen Elizabeth sovereigns too. But it is most often seen with George V sovereigns, pre 1929, which is one of reasons for the reduced portrait of George V and the reason why we now have the ‘small head’ variety from 1929 - 1932 on all sovereigns minted between these years.
  14. 1906 Half Sovereign and 2015 1/4oz Gold Canadian Maple Edward VII 1906 half sovereign - London mint - Sold. and 2015 1/4oz gold Canadian Maple in original mint packaging (vacuum packed) - £430 - Sold. Weight: 7.77g Fineness: 999.9 Both plus postage or buy together for half price SD. If you have any questions please ask.
  15. @Von if genuine, the 1965 looks like a possible mis strike or it could have been damaged. This is what it should look like:
  16. I think the change of the reverse design in 2022 and now 2023 has just coincided with events. It might seem like the sovereign reverse design is being changed too much but soon it will revert back to St.George and dragon.
  17. You’ll be sent to The Tower for such comments on here. 😆
