  1. Hello to everyone i have noticed that bullionbypost has two particular sovereigns priced at around 10K GBP, the 1924 SA and 1917 london. i am really wondering, are there people (for example in here) who are willing to spend this amount of money on these two sovereigns? links here: 1917 london https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-sovereign-specific-year/george-v-1911-1932/1917-gold-sovereign-king-george-v-london/ 1924SA https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-sovereign-specific-year/george-v-1911-1932/1917-gold-sovereign-king-george-v-london/ thanks
  2. There is a difference between crypto exchanges and blockchain money. Basically, blockchain money is a form of digital scarcity, but just digital. This eliminates trusted third parties, as verifiability is public to everyone. Exchanges like FTX, however, reintroduce counterparty risk into the system which is what the blockchain invention tried to avoid in the first place.
  3. Personally, I find they cross the border of good-value. I would allow myself an indulgence up to some 15-20% over spot, but 40% for the 1/10s is a bit too much.
  4. very interesting and thanks a lot for sharing What do you think is the explanation of this?
  5. Hello to everyone, I'd like to hear your opinion on the spanish bullion coins, depicting the lynx, the toro and the caballo. On one hand these are very nice looking reverse-proof coins with a ton of security features and very low mintage (12K for the 1oz Lynx, 15K for the 1oz Toro). So i can imagine many people would like to have them in their collection. On the other hand though, the premiums for these coins are at the top end, around 15%, which I don't think are seen at any other 1oz coins. My question to the collective TS expertise is: is it worth the investment? do you think there is a market for these scarce but expensive coins? thanks a lot!
  6. Hello everyone, I've recently found in my coin shop a Victoria backshield 1866 and I noticed that the William Wyon initials at the neck are incused. I've looked this up and i found some sites (including Chards) who mention this, but I was wondering if someone knows any more history around this. For example, why did the RM decide to change from incused to raised? For comparison, below are three photos of these backshields, showing the incused W.W. lettering in the 1866 and the raised in 1871. thanks!
  7. Hello to everyone, Since a few years ago South Africa has launched the Big Five gold coin series displaying on the obverse and reverse five of their most treasured animals: lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino and leopard. While I find this a nice series, I am hesitating of starting a stacking process unless I am sure there is a liquid market. My question for you is: In your countries do you see this as a desirable sought-after and liquid investment? Thanks a lot for your replies
  8. Hello to everyone I need to make room for another purchase and I am selling this coin from the series of the 1976 Montréal Olympics. The coin has a total weight of 13.31 grams and a composition of .5833 of gold, or 14k. More information here https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces38140.html I am selling this coin for 445 EUR, which corresponds to a 0% premium in today's price. Below are three photos: obverse, reverse and exact weight. Thanks for looking
  9. Did you already check its weight, size and ping?
  10. nice coins, very shinny. In this photo the copperish color is not so apparent
  11. I am thinking: on one hand it will be hard to sell them because the buyer will be highly sceptical (and rightfully so). On the other hand it is such a rare coin that i would love to boast that I am the owner. If it was priced reasonably, within some 5-10% of spot premium, yes for sure i would buy.
  12. it really breaks my heart to see 3 pieces of art smashed together
  13. Hello everyone I was wondering if there is anywhere any records of the various trades that are going on within TSF. I'd have liked to see a comparison of coins' popularities for buyers and sellers in here. thanks
  14. To know this type of details you must have an great knowledge of the subject. I am really impressed
