The second looks like a (replica of?) a 4th century Boeotian coin depicting the labours of Hercules

Popped into Sharps Pixley today for a 1/4 oz gold 2015 Britannia & one of their 1oz silver bars.
Quite a friendly place to visit. Just as I was about to leave, the doorman gave my wife a free hardback book called; 'The Ages of Gold'.
Now that's enough to make me visit again

Just picked up a roll of Lunar series 1 Tigers for 44 and change a piece, the guy has saved me a roll of Ox series 1 for 38.70 a piece.
That will bring my investment to pretty much my 5k target and thus is the end of my stacking journey for now.
    150 Pandas 40 Lunar horses 20 S1 Tigers and 20 S1 Ox. With an average of £21.57 (Ouch :P)
its been a pleasure guys, I will probably disappear back into the world of shares soon
    Oh BTW,
If anyone wants an Ox or a Tiger the guy has spares that I can pick up...

Not seen that before, although I have seen some data from Chards on an informal basis.
    A few interesting points;
The small (5 -8 ppt) silver content of the late younghead sovs have a huge influence of the colour, compared to modern ones.
The first modern day sov, 1957, has nothing in but gold and copper and isn't the red colour of current issues which have an identical composition.
The very large amount of silver in the Sydney mint aussie style coins certainly shows in the colour, and to a lesser extent in the early London ones.
One thing that does appear to be true though; you don't need that much silver to have a huge influence on the colour, tempering that awful copper tone.
The early 20th century coins from Edward and George are similar to the late Victorian ones (1887 onwards) in that a lot of them are quite reddish but you also see a lot of very yellow ones. Would be interesting to see data from these.

According to these guys older sovereigns had small (less than 1% it seems) amounts of silver and other metals. This might account for the colour as refining techniques have probably improved allowing for a more pure gold + copper mix.
The chart does not show analysis of george5 or Edward7

Got this medal / badge set from the Royal Mint Fleur De Coin Club. It was given to members around 15 years ago. Each has the name of the member etched into the edge of the medal and their initial on the back of the badge. Total of just under 3oz.

I promised myself I wouldn't collect any other series other than the Rwanda Wildlife, but today I received 3 lunar series 1 coins to add to my monkey, I am choosing to see this as an investment and not a collection as the 4 coins set me back £150.
