    Just this time yesterday we were at £824 =  £868 today   ( +5.35% / £+44.11 )
Better than a years worth of fiat interest earned in the bank, made in a day with a 'barbarous relic'

I'm just looking at the 5 year gold chart on BBP
We are almost in exact same position give or take a couple of quid/days, date for date as five years back
07/02/2011 gold is £851 11/02/2016 gold now is £849 I wonder if the gold bull run up to £1160+ in the September is set to repeat ???
Looking back at that year 2011 on the graph aside from a few tiny down days gold kept going up and up
As @Pipers says above, we are not short of reasons why we shouldnt expect a higher gold price (not that we werent in 2011 either)

A lot of people got carried away with the last Gold bull market, I bought back in to early so I am back in profit at just over £800 all in costs and if I sell a few coins my costs will go down.  I'm not sure how high the Gold price will go, I am now thinking around $1300 top and a bottom for the rest of the year of $1100 its just an opinion and just mine.
Deutsche Bank have put a profits warning out early to the markets and are buying back bonds Italian banks are in trouble, the Japanese investors have to deal with negative interest rates, same as the Swiss. The USA FED the ECB (Euroupe in trouble) and China are all trying to out maneuver each over, this leaves Gold as a safe haven for investors and I haven't even gone into the BRICS yet!
I think Silver is a different story and is being pulled both ways by Gold and Copper if copper wins I will invest in Silver.  As I have already have Gold and silver I am in no rush to buy and will buy a minimum amount just to tick over at the same time I am holding cash as there is a possibility the markets may crash down under 5000 at that point I will start to carefully look at investing for the long term (look). Remember the saying blood in the streets.

SilverTowne Stacker round, Apmex Sunshine Mint Year of the Monkey round and 2008 Koala.  Just need to pick up a 2007 Koala at some point to finish the date run.
Kazakhstan Golden Irbis and 2016 Somali Elephant.  A couple more 1992 1/20 Libertads and a 1/20 2012 Panda to finish the set.  Took forever to find the Panda. As a backup, I bought a slabbed one a while back with the intention of breaking it open should I never find a reasonably raw 1/20.

The second gold coin ever issued by Iceland - this one the commemorative 10000 kronur to mark the 1100th anniversary of the founding of Iceland in 874.  Nice design, circulation version (12000 minted only)  - pretty spartan look. Features Ingolfur Arnarson on Viking ship about to throw his posts onto the ground. Has 0.4485 oz of gold. Bought from a good eBay seller from Iceland!
Here are stock photos - will post the real pics when I get it.

Royal Australian Mint's Bullion Lunar Gold coins.  They're actually distributed by PAMP which I find odd and while doing research, I found that PAMP also distribute the Canadian Mint's 5 Blessings Bullion Gold coin too (no wonder they're so far to locate).
Took a pic and then went to rehouse them and noticed that the obverse had a nice design.  More interesting that seeing just the queens head anyway.

It's the wife's birthday tomorrow so thought I'd buy one each of the gold and white gold roses from CoinInvest just for the novelty.
While I was at it, added a 1/10 2015 Brit for the 1/10th collection because of the dimple effect making it different from previous years.
I've been wanting to pickup some more 2015 Pandas and STG are currently the cheapest and with spot low and the € rate being high, it was a good time to buy.  Not only that, a quick email to Livia to combine postage saved another £7.

There was a small problem with the Pandas though.  They were packed at the bottom of the box with the roses on top but after being taped up, the shipping label was placed on the bottom by mistake.  This now meant that the Pandas were no longer flat and a large proportion of them popped out of the tray during transit.  Easy enough to drop back in though so no harm done.
