The 1/4 cypher could end up being a silent killer, or not. Anyone's guess
There may not be more made as it fell flat when offered to dealers. I see the max mintage is 20k but there certainly isn't that many around right now. That just means they will strike as ordered up until a total of 20k.
Right now there is less than 1k and whether or not they will be re-released to dealers is unclear. But probably not
I've asked dealers if they expect to get them in and they all say no.
Will BBP buy more? Can they buy more? Dunno
Certainly one to keep an eye on
For bullion, the premium is insane - 15%. Even if the coin becomes somewhat of a rarity, it might be hard to recoup money spent

One of the German "private" dealers has them. And as I understand cheaper than BPP

Hardly surprising. BBP always charges a hefty premium

Hopefully the gold price tanks even further before then

Any news on premiums?
On the day of release, the memorial sovereigns were around 10%. They quickly dropped, however

How long after proof is bullion usually released?

Eh? How did you get that? It was my first purchase from them also but no discount

This is back in stock, and still in a "flash sale", though slightly more expensive than last week: £407 (or £403 if buying 5 or more).
I haven't heard of that company before. Are they legit?

I believe those to be released at the end of January will be the bullion version of the 2022 Memorial Proof Sovereign.
It hasn’t been confirmed either way whether the year of these bullion versions will be 2022 or 2023 (but I personally believe it will be 2022).
The Mint have stated that it will be 2022

There's too much detail for my liking. I prefer the 2022 sovereign

I think it is better to hold a few smaller coins than 1 big coin. Sovs are best. I like the 1/4oz Brits but the premiums are insane

Either way it will keep everyone going until the normal 2023 sovereigns come out. 🤔😮🫣
Do we know when that will be? I had hoped for a release this month

I see Gold's dipped under £1430 again. Just bought George V sov and a bit of other fractional gold yesterday. I think if it goes down another £20 or so I might get another sov but that really would be my budget for the month.
When gold dips, the premiums rise

Sorry to hijack the thread but I, too, have a noobish question about sovereigns.
Is there anywhere (other than Ebay) I can find sovereigns from a specific year? I emailed several dealers but got no reply.
Thanks

Balls. I bet it will finally come and be typical Royal Mint quality control too, absolutely battered, and probably milky also.
İf when it eventually comes, if it looks like a toddler has taken a bite out of it, it might be my last royal mint coin outside of sovereigns or gold coins
My last Atkinson's order looked like it had done a full 90 minutes at Old Trafford. I complained to Atkinson's and they didn't even reply.

Me too, I ordered on the 6th, paid £31, they are now closer to £29, still hasn't even dispatched yet. Considering stock was supposedly coming on the 13th, I was hoping they would have dispatched on the Friday (14th)
I should have just waited
I'm not confident I will be getting my order anytime soon. This morning, I received the following email from Atkinson's: "The response to the launch of the 2023 UK Britannia coins has been incredible, and as a result of this the volume of orders we are currently handling has increased hugely, therefore this has delayed the speed in which we can despatch orders." Last time I will be ordering from them.

I'm trying to decide whether to put my money into a 2023 QEII Britannia or wait for 2023 QEII Sovereigns.
I'm in the same boat.
Sovs usually release in November but with the change in monarch, they may not be available until the new year
-
Where did you buy from? I ordered near a week ago from Atkinson's and they haven't even been dispatched yet. I paid premium as I thought I would get them quicker. Last time I'll be doing that.

Interesting that the gold price is sliding just before the BRICS summit, where it is rumoured a gold-backed currency will be announced.... USA skulduggery, perhaps?
