Hello. I have deliberately recently chosen to stack full sovereigns (bullion) as a hedge against inflation and "quantitative easing". The more I look into it, the more interesting it becomes! Trying to have the discipline to stick to bullion and avoid the temptation of the shiny objects in my path 🙂
So I will initially be selling some half sovs and a few of the more interesting pieces I have to end up with just plain bullion full sovs. Will also be a buyer in this forum I am sure.

Welcome onboard matey, everything I would say has already been said, would just emphasis buying silver from BBP is an expensive way to stack, and fleabay has many a pitfall.
I am currently selling off most (but not all) of my stack of 1oz-10oz silver coins and bars to concentrate on 1kg bars, so have quite a few bargains up for grabs.  Some stuff already posted but if you want to drop me a PM happy to let you know what I have left.  Also a lot of other silver bargains up on the forum at the moment including some 2oz Tudors from @Oliman which I am hoping sell soon as they are tempting even me who is in the middle of selling off silver coins  
Good luck on your journey, you will soon realise you have picked a quite addictive past-time.  I find it helps to always bear in mind your not really spending money, just upgrading its format 🤔

The 1918i and 1895m from @Nick1368 1876s from @Sh97if and the 1877s/78s/79s shield sovereigns were from Atkinsons 

 

 

A jeweller local to me buys sovereigns £20 below spot and sells them £20 above, cash only
Never sold them any but have bought a handful.  Nothing fantastic but if they have them in I pick up any Victoria's or Gillicks.  Waiting for the day they have a load of shields in

2022's should stay the cheapest until the 2023 sovereign comes out in a couple of months, then it will start attracting more of a premium if it follows the same pattern as previous years

All good points from @Orpster - I have come to view Gold (mostly Sovereigns and some 1/10oz Brits) as a way of saving money / preserving wealth that isn't as easy as cash to Spaff on trivial stuff 😂, and Silver from RM as something to buy the things I like the look of without tying up a large amount of cash (compared to the Gold versions of the same coins) Basically, if you like it - buy it! It's your stack after all.
I started by stacking Silver Brits, as they were affordable in small numbers as and when I had some free funds to save, but as time went on and I was able to allocate more funds to PM's I've switched mostly to Gold  - again, starting with smaller fractions (i.e. 1/10oz Brits) then selling some of those to upgrade to larger coins, Sovereigns in my case. Still have a couple of tubes of 1oz Silver Brits , but will likely sell and use the funds for more Gold at some stage...
I may decide to sell a few Sovereigns in the future to get the odd 1oz Gold coin, as they do look impressive 😁 but Sovereigns seem to be the ideal medium to store wealth in 'manageable' chunks, both from a buying and selling point of view... and they sure do go quickly when priced sensibly here on the Forum! 😊

They are not quite so competitive on the old stuff I find, but looking at their current price list they do a single George V for £367 +delivery

Yet to see anyone beat them for price on bars or sovereigns. I challenge anyone to find cheaper valcambi bars for instance.

Ive done this on 2 occasions, and it works a treat. Even got a call from them after the money had gone through which is very reassuring..
