    My two cents,
all this happened before my tragic boat incident off course…
i am a collector at heart… so for stacking to work for me… I always knew I needed an extra part of beauty within the object.
that is where proof coins helped me to grow my stack.
it was the first time I spend money on collecting something that has intrinsic value to it. So I loved my proof coins, and whatever happens with the collection part of the coin (grow or loose interest)… it has value from the métal it is made of.

Hi all i have been browsing the Royal mints proof coins and some are £95 for 1oz of Silver my question is do these generally hold there value or increase of time ?
  14. Thanks

Actually you are far closer to reality than you know lol.
It's a lottery as to if they will become "profitable" in the future, but most fall in price unfortunately, especially considering  todays over inflated rrp. Unfortunately we live in a time where even if a specific coin was deemed sought after and the price rose higher, that many would come to market so fast that the price would fall just as quickly. The recent gothic crown being the perfect example.
My own humble advice is don't buy proof coins solely on future profits, but simply buy because you like the design and if it turns out to be a winner in the future 👍👍

It depends on many factors. To name a few:
    - Mintage number (low or high).
    - Design (beautiful or ugly).
    - History (series or new).

Many on here will have a much better feel for the market, but for what it’s worth, I have bought over 50 old silver proofs from my local antique shop for between £22 and £35 a coin over the past few months.  So I certainly would not touch them unless you are experienced enough to really understand the market.
there is undoubtedly a market and profit to be had, but I’m befuddled as to how to work it out.
so unless you are getting them for close to bullion I just think for any newbie , it’s a huge risk.
I have just put my tin hat on waiting to be told I’m wrong by those with more experience, but that’s how I see it. 🤓

Yep, the Americans have brought a bill to congress to prevent gold being sold, but they failed to in blocking it being used as collateral in finance deals, which is a technicality but one that surely will be exploited.
Russia has been a net buyer of gold for a long time. I think we might soon find out how much gold they really have!
    Indeed, in a Siberian winter

An interesting article from Egon von Greyerz is below, a bit gloomy but a realistic look at the state of the global economy and how these sanctions against Russia but end up being the black swan we've heard rumours of for so long.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/von-greyerz-dark-years-are-here

If Russia and several other Asian countries come out in support of a gold standard, or gold and silver that could have serious ramifications for us hodlers/stackers and general lovers of PMs. But it would collapse the entire global FIAT ponzi scheme in one swoop.

It sure is an interesting time to be alive. we are, I feel, at the in the end game of the current money game

Another day, another set of withdrawal notices from Bullion Vault, this time Zurich and London.

Gold from Zurich - 2,361 ounces

Gold from London - 795 ounces
    Silver from London - 57,914 ounces or 1,800 kilo's  (60 1000 ounce bars)

Investors are getting rattled it would seem, even from private/non-bank owned vaults.  I wonder if this is to do with sanctions on wealthy Russians at all?

I've seen then occasionally over the last 6 or 7 years. But it appears that the frequency and volume of withdrawals has increased of late. I've never seen silver withdrawals as large as these  and not on consecutive days. I'll be keeping a beady eye out now and watching for further withdrawals to see if this is a pattern emerging or if it is simply a one off event
