  2. he is not a councillor with Bassettlaw Council. He is a parish councillor, which means he comes under Tuxford City Council but complaints have to go to Bassettlaw. https://www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/complaint-about-a-councillor/
  3. if this is still available, I am interested. Still got the manual etc?
  4. interesting in the change of language as well, the most obvious being to-day and not today as we use ummm today. wonder how many 18 year olds to-day would volunteer for the armed forces as they did then. a remarkable generation then indeed.
  5. as much as i would love to have one, that squint would annoy me every single time i looked at it past the point of PS4 rage when I get killed again in call of duty by some 12 year old with better eyesight and reflexes than me. ( and I am tapped out after all the other releases i bought this month )
  6. got a package from BPP but only had time to properly look today. got the coronation silver, coat of arms and bully as well as the 1/4 oz gold. the silver is fine but there is a mark on the 1/4 above the c but not sure what it is. it doesnt seem to be coloured so dont think its a copper spot. since i was looking closely at that there do seem to be tiny spots/dimples on either side of the CR and although not picked up on the photo a slight almost haze on the right hand side as well. presume its not bad enough cause its bullion to return?
  7. sorry could have been clearer. as far as i understand it, gib doesnt have vat. so do dealers ( or coin shops ) in gib charge vat - assuming there are any?
  8. showing as available to order for anyone stupid err. sorry, big enough of a fan to buy them. flippers are out already on fleabay
  9. Hello officer. I know nothing of what you speak! 🤣 Does it happen? probably. a lot? doubt it compared to cigarettes and booze. victimless? depends on your point of view as with a lot of stuff on the white collar side. thing is, someone always loses out, at extremes tax receipts down so spending cut, legitimate businesses that dont get your custom..... As for vat disappearing on silver? i would say not a chance, more likely it would be extended to gold even if it only brings in a couple of hundred million each year. lets face it, as much noise as we might make about how unfair it is, the great british public will not give a single flying one about "rich" people buying silver and gold and not being taxed more. even if the money used to buy the goods are from income already taxed. tax avoidance and NI avoidance from various city types who are given gold bars as bonuses are lumped in with the more "normal" on here. For methods, i would hazard a guess and say its not done by flying ryanair with their baggage alowance and charges😂
  10. looks like a mistrike under france and not struck flush. so maybe a rare error. stick it on ebay for £80k. just remember the vaseline for the camera lens and you found it in a house clearance
  11. like many things, it doesnt make sense the way RM have done this. I think the best way to proceed is to not try and work out why they are doing what they are doing, it will just hurt your head 🤪 A someone else mentioned earlier, if for some reason the mintage is low, the 1/4 will be a nice sweet spot of original price ( not much more than a sov ) and collectabiility with the design. So yeh, i pulled the trigger with BPP, least I get clubcard points with my credit card. it will pay for my baked beans and toast i will have to eat for the rest of the month 🤣 If anyone sees me replying on a sales post for july, remind me of this post please 😝

    Any "LCS" in UK?

you taking about Hamiltons on St Vincent Pl? Its a jewellers that sells coins rather than a LCS. Its also pretty expensive - wanting £40 for standard 1oz silver brits last time i was in. and that was at a lower spot price than now.
  13. thought this deserved a bump - over 7k subs now for one of our own.
  14. you missed the most important bit. lawrence is giving FREE delivery!
  15. another thing learnt. but given the listing says 1 Troy Ounce Tibetan Silver 999 Bullion Bar Precious Metal Content per Unit 1 oz 1 Troy ounce 999 Bullion Tibetan Mint Fineness 0.999 etc unless you know its an alloy you would read that as 999 silver. i would put it under misleading. Its not my style so I dont think I would ever buy but loads would.
  16. thats some clear out he was having. seems to use that on all his items.
  17. how many kidneys will be left in board members at year end at this rate? 😲
  18. i started off like you with the likes of westminster buying buncs, circ coins before moving into silver proofs then actual silver etc. the sad fact is for most silver proof circulating coins they can be picked up after a couple of years at half or less price. look at ebay sold prices and you can pick up a lot of 50p proofs in the £20/30 range. Some hold their value more like the RAF £2 range for example. the £5 coins are niche unfortunately. as are date stamps. the combination? hmm. I cant remember off the top of my head how much actual silver is in a silver 50p or £2 coin. but an ounce is an ounce for a brittania or maple etc collectables is more volatile and tends to have a larger mark up at release which is why i mostly moved away from it. main thing is, buy what you like for liking it and no one elses opinion matters. if you buy for investment, i would go for straight bullion, but then you have limited strike on the day, memorial, prooofs.............. minefield everywhere 🤣

    Any "LCS" in UK?

there is a shop in cardiff arcade but its not a lcs as you see in you tube. they sell some coins. not they sell coins. apart from that nearest i know of is in birkenhead, then blackpool. or soem may be nearer going east but dont know for sure. google coin shop.
  21. not a fan of it at all but found out I won the westminster 50p for 50p ballot, so will get it only because of that. and RM are taking the michael at wanting £20 for a coloured bunc. Is it just normal buncs you are collected or circulated as well? I have a few dupes of both if you need some.
