  1. And they don't take credit cards - or never used to anyway. Probably the only big dealer I have never ever bought from because of that . Like the security I get (and the cashback doesn't hurt)
  2. Cheaper at chards (ex delivery) https://www.chards.co.uk/2022-tudor-beasts-1-ounce-gold-bullion-lion-of-england/16181
  3. Deliveries from this weekend got both of the pride silver proof 50p. I did cancel the 50p to order the Piedfort but RM send, and charged, for both. Also a cheeky little half Brit thanks to @Dazzlinh
  4. I am usually the same, but then I also rarely bother with proofs at all but similar to you would like to collect the special date versions. Maybe start with this years if you do not have one already they seem to be fairly well available. You can generally pick one up around £370-£400 raw.
  5. Will depend a lot on if they are graded. Current trend seems to be that PF70's can go for up to 25% premium even over PF69 examples. I have a 2002 PF70 and want a 1989 but the current price on those is too high for me. I don't generally buy graded and only have 3 graded coins, two of which I only bought because they were the same price as raw.
  6. From the website: does not seem like a great deal of the profit but suppose depends on how many BU get bought
  7. Be warned the checkout system is being a little flakey, should you have issues number to call is 0800 032 2152 option 1
  8. Todays arrivals. Crowns from @SovereignBishop, 5 Sovs from @CatStudent and a Sov not from the forum
  9. I will start working on a list for things you should be sorry for, beating me by 30 seconds to that tube of 2oz Tudor Beasts springs to mind though
  10. 50/50 matey, I also apologise for being tetchy
  11. Think your getting confused matey, I don't have £20k to spend, this is not my post I urged caution and suggested price is not the only deciding factor when spending that amount of money and gave a reason why.
  12. 'The person' was pointing out they sent a Machin head when someone had ordered a Gillick, and that a coin had been received marked (a large permanent pen mark on the coin) and that when tagged the dealer did not respond - not really the same thing at all! And I stated I would be influenced by more than price not that I would not want to use them, I have bought 2022's off them myself and posted it in 'Today I received' and it was me that posted their link in 'See a deal post it here'
  13. Same, and I like toning on old coins as well. Don't even mind a bit of milking on modern silver coins. That's would not be most peoples view though, great job @GoldDiggerDave must be a knack to doing it without getting the tell-tale 'cleaning' lines not sure I would be brave enough with my 10 thumbs but that looks like a top job
  14. More fun than just ordering 20k in one go as well
  15. https://tavexbullion.co.uk/gold/british-sovereign-2022-gold-bullion/ they include the spread in their pricing structure
  16. It’s in the today I received thread Was a while ago though so will be a fair few pages back
  17. Atkinsons and Britannia both offer a guarantee of at least good or better grade on best value Sovs, I have bought from both multiple times without issue over a number of years, even had the odd gem as well. I don’t use Chards as I buy on my credit card (for the cash back of course ) but suspect they offer the same. I would still buy from Tavex, was just disappointed they did not respond when tagged. The examples were not from a best value listing they were from a Gillick listing and a 2022 BU listing.
  18. Been a few members on here that have had some issues with Tavex though. while my own experience with them have been positive cannot ignore that they sold marked coins, scratched coins and even a coin that was not as advertised to forum members and did not respond when tagged. For that size of purchase I would be inclined to be influenced by more than just price.
  19. Two tubes of 2022 Sovereigns would be my purchase if I was dropping 20k in one go May not see as big of a rise is premiums as some sets, but there will always be a buyer and sets go out of fashion, sovereigns never do.
