Still the same amount of gold in pre/post 2013, pre 2013 coins being heavier, and getting from 91.7% to 99.99% = much nasty chemicals and obnoxious vapours, whereas 2013 onward is just melt-reform between (LBMA) bars - coins - bars.

Potentially the same applies to Sovs if they are destined for the pot. It’s just reality of life. Same dynamics apply with 0.5 and .925 silver vs 9999

9999 fine gold doesn't incur refining costs if ending up with LBMA

Im pretty sure forum members holding older Brits wouldn’t be too happy getting £18.50 less for pre 2013? I was really just highlighting Atkinsons strange pricing. Obviously they can do what they want. It’s their business.
Just an observation really.
Cheers 👍

The big advantage of the chinese ones is they're easier to transport 'cause they're much lighter than others.

ArgentSmith reacted to Skyfiller in Another in the Kilo Club
Purchased a special sovereign off @James32 last week which means I owe a massive thanks to everyone on TSF as I've hit the 1kg of gold in full sovereigns 🙂 (That's 137 to save anyone counting 😂).
I started this journey just under 3 years ago after happening upon TSF after looking up what one was worth that was given to me by my grandparents when I was born. Gave myself the target of 1kg in 10 years (1 per month plus a few) and have smashed that. Honestly the best decision I've done and a great little nest egg for retirement. Here's to the next kg and once again, thank you all 😀🥰

ArgentSmith got a reaction from stefffana in 5kg 999 Silver Geiger Edelmetalle Silver Bar (Square) For Auction! - Ends 12th April 9am UK GMT - WITHDRAWN
Absolute belter of a bar at under spot price too!! 🤯 At the end of the day the forum can be very much dog eat dog at times sellers are free to sell to who they want, it's a shame the op felt inundated with rules and advice.

I saw it when it was originally listed for sale as a BIN. I had contacted the seller about it at the time of the BIN with a backup offer of £3525.
Subsequently the seller and I then agreed the sale. Having read this thread I think it would have been a case of just get it sold and thats exactly what we did.
Sorry if I have annoyed anyone, not intentional
