  1. Glad to hear other people have had the same service. I've bought from all the main dealers and its always the same, I think they forget that a bullion purchase is a big deal to most people and they should make it feel special. When I bought my current car it was from a dealer in Coventry which is a flight away from me, the garage owner picked me up personally in his own 911 at the train station, took me to the garage, gave me a tour of the place and let me drool over lots of amazing cars I can't afford. That garage are probably getting my business forever because it felt like they actually cared about me as a customer....unlike the bmw garage I visited before then and got treated like a homeless person that had walked in off the streets .
  2. I'm struggling to see where the coronation set is "arguably better" that set has serious provenance and a unique crowned portrait. You would be mad to pay more for the 2024 set
  3. Didn't bother taking pictures but recieved my first ever purchase from tavex today. I got a 5g dragon bar and a 1oz gold seymour unicorn, to say I'm impressed is an understatement. It arrived in a lovely box with custom foam inserts to protect the coin and bar, not sure if this is what they always do but it was a very nice surprise and something I will reuse for selling on here and a little card signed by the person that packed it. I feel like that box probably cost them 2 or 3 quid but the fact they go out of their way to do it impressed me massively. I can safely say that from now on if I'm buying from a dealer it will be tavex. They are usually the cheapest and by treating a bullion purchase like its something special (which it is when your the average punter spending 2 grand) they won me over big time. I wish other businesses, not just in the gold business, realised customer service mattered and making things feel special is not really that hard, just a little bit of effort. Big thumbs up to them
  4. I'd probably try to get a graded proof rather than the bullion. For comparison I paid 2500 for an ms70 jubillee matte quintuple, you'd be damn near double that for a proof, people just don't seem to appreciate the matte quintuple. Then again they also don't appreciate the memorial sov.
  5. I just paid about 1650 for my bullion seymour unicorn so go f#£k yourself wishing for 900 an ounce
  6. Oh well, we couldn't quite get there on price but never mind, someone else will have their chance. Good luck with the sale and to anyone thinking about this I have bought from @DevonNumismatic before and he is an excellent seller.
  7. I Only sticking point would be these don't seem to have graded well and I would worry these are coins that have been bought and returned due to poor quality.
  8. I'll be on a ship in guyana for for Christmas so probably won't take them with me, you'll go missing for less than the price of one these over there. On the plus side we get lobster for Xmas Dinner
  9. Well it's far from a done deal, I sent an offer (not even my usual pi$$ taking, hope nobody hears about this type) so we'll see how it goes.
  10. Make no mistake it's not money to be thrown around lightly and it will mean Xmas is cancelled but I'm sure the family will understand....
  11. I would keep the modern ones personally, jubillee, memorial, coronation are pretty significant coins and being new will be shiny and nice. That said I think you should sell the jubillee, memorial and coronation si.ply because I'd like to buy them.
  12. The proof collection you never knew you needed! This could have been a great series but my god the arthurian coins are awful...like really awful. I started collecting the Robin hoods and I actually thought they were cool but then the king arthur was released, I sold them and never looked back. Who's buying this? Why not just have it bullion only? Surely producing a few hundred scratched and fingerprint covered proofs nobody wants is more trouble than its worth?
  13. If you advertise it for free I'm not sure how that helps you get the bar?
  14. Not going silly with them? The bottom picture suggests otherwise. I need some of them...
  15. Nobody would ever spam a thread like this just for points! I assure you sir that's definitely not what I'm doing right now
  16. This may be a hard sell, first post 200g in 2 bars? If you want to sell here pm@BackyardBullion, he runs a well respected intermediary service for a relatively low price. He will test and verify your bars and get you the best price possible for them.
  17. I love the memorials but I'm not a fan of piedfort coins, I don't really get the point. That said great price!

Ooh this is quite fun, good way to buy some cheap half's. Are they in capsules/slips etc.?
  19. Great coin and if you dont know him have no worries about dealing with quantumstacker he is an excellent seller. I know about the status of this coin as mine is 2 digits away on the serial and also awaiting return to dave
