  1. That was ridiculous, the page I had open for the mint is still not even queuing but that link took me straight to the shop and got the set. Wonder if there will be any left at 0900 for actual 'launch'?
  2. Follow paulmertons link...I just did and it somehow bypassed queuing. Do not hit the mint logo just go to shop them new products. Just got the 5 coin set
  3. Having only got in to gold in the last year the experience of waiting for this soverign is pretty exciting... watching the rumours flow is like watching transfer window rumours in football! I have a few nice pieces, mainly through what I've learned on this forum, I obviously missed the queen's beasts....but have picked up a few bits retrospectively, I am collecting the myths and legends, I thought the tudor beasts would be my first "collector/investor" pieces but I hate the design. I'm lucky enough to be in the position to make a few investments and have some fun with them and this soverign launch has me excited... rambling post to say this forum is pretty fun, I've learned a lot, you've cost me a lot of money and your influence will rape my bank account on Monday!!! But hey, ultimately we will all make money off this long term....hopefully
  4. Certainly some differing views, thanks for the input. I think the point raised about the coins being potentially ready dinged or scratched (but intentionally) is interesting, it might make you less worried about handling them.
  5. I've noticed that there are a few 5 and 10 oz silver proofs still available from the trial of the pyx, yale and falcon. I'm really surprised these haven't sold, am I missing something? Are these not as valuable as I think? There don't seem to be any for sale from dealers and there are places asking similar money for 2oz proofs. I am new to this game so are trial coins actually less valuable even you they are rarer?
  6. Seems they have most silvers and all the golds in stock again to order. Should I be surprised these haven't sold out?
  7. Here's a thought. I assume that almost everyone buying these proofs will sign up for the series so the mint will surely make at least as many coins as this first beast, I would be surprised if they then didn't make extra to sell individuals, is there potential for these to end up with very high montages and really not be rare? Sorry if that sounds thick but I'm quite new to this. Did they do a similar subscription for the queen's beasts?
  8. Great point on the potential monarch change, could make the set pretty desirable
  9. Still gold proofs available, I really thought these would sell out quicker. Maybe people saving there money for the 2022 sovereign or the vague hope of a gothic crown? I don't like the design much but if it wasn't for the upcoming releases I would still have picked up a panther for investment
  10. I am sure these will be collectibles but I just can't get get on with the design, I really think it looks stupid, almost like a children's drawing. Then again I guess I'm in the minority that are loving the myths and legends coins so horses for courses I guess.
  11. Not sure this warrants a pre sale, can't imagine a wild rush on it. Bit of a shame to see the design is unchanged from last year
  12. Yeah, the finish on the edges of mine are rough but it's a very pretty thing....and that's kind of the problem! My girlfriend has developed a bit of a fixation with it and would love to have it made in to a piece of jewellery, having seen a few speculative prices though and seen what the coins did I can't bring myself to give her it!! I suppose I should be glad she's not moaning about me buying gold
  13. With the last few 1oz gold queen's beasts still around, would you say the premiums are worth it? The greyhound and white horse are available for about 1500. Do you reckon it's worth it? Some of the more desirable coins seem to be going for silly money but these 2 seem unpopular hence the price. Looking to the future though I would have thought these might be worth a punt?
  14. How do people see the una and the lions 1oz gold bars performing? They seem sold out everywhere aside from one site looking for 2400 usd. Doubt they'll ever come close to the coins but do we reckon these could be a good investment?
  15. Yeah...that was not the most exciting launch
  16. Just saw royal mints homepage, website down as they are preparing to launch a new product, any ideas?
  17. I bought a una bar and it's lovely, it's my girlfriends favourite
  18. I'm really new to gold and recently got my first coins from RM, and have instantly caught the bug! When I bought my first coins I dismissed the Robin Hood as messy and ugly but I was interested when I saw the maid Marion and decided to just get the pair. I was surprised by the Robin Hood, it actually looks great in person whereas the maid Marion is just too fussy, not bad but nothing special. I doubt these will be the next queen's beasts but you never know, if they go for the King Arthur myths they could be quite something. I just fancied jumping on a collection from the start and at 20 /30 quid over a brittania why not take a punt.
