    Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say hello - pretty much a brand new starter to the world of precious metals.
Found this place thanks to watching a few videos from the YouTube channel Backyard Bullion.
Picked up my first 1oz silver coin just before this weekend and looking to continue the adventure from there 😊
    Thanks,
    Taf

I bought up a 1/2oz Krug, recently from ATS Bullion, a few % over spot (unseen, no pics).
This is what arrived - a 1992 Proof:

It's not perfect, there are a few small marks but nothing major. Don't know if it's surface dust and I don't want to open the capsule.
According to SA Mint, there were only 1501 produced that year, and only in proof.

Do you think it's worth sending for grading? Would it help any potential resale value?

    Hi,
I have been thinking to invest some money in silver. A lot of people recommend it but such people usually predict hyperinflation, US dollar crash, and similar scenarios.
I came to see what do you think about that.
I am not an investor or some hotshot. I have just been thinking to invest some of my earnings in this precious metal and hold it for a while and who knows, maybe profit big.

Only the delivery is pending, but I bought 6 @ 1kg bars on Friday night and the payment and delivery are still being processed, so kinda pending, maybe?
So I did my bit ( 2nd hand 999.9 1kg bars, at a great price ), so that should knock COMEX sideways ........

Hi, @Rebmaa, and welcome in precious metals world.
Silver is very attractive now because apparently everyone is thinking about the spot price going up in next future. The demand from private stackers increased a lot from last September, but the demand from industry will increase much more in next few years.
There are a lot of opportunities to buy silver, not necessary from dealers, the best place is from this forum. If you want to stack only Britannia coins because CGT free, usual you can find at £27.5 - £30 each, depending of quantity. ( see for example @GreatBritishBullion ' s offer ).
If you are not interested about CGT free, there are lots of better deals around £26/oz.  With a budget of round £420/month you can buy from Baird every month 500g silver bar, equivalent under £26/oz. ( see https://www.bairdmint.com/products/500g-silver-cast-bar ).
Also, you can still buy silver around spot price, sometimes under if you are looking only to accumulate quantity as scrap silver and pre 47 british coins. You will find a very detailed example about scrap offered by me before on another topic here:

Also, you will find my advice for any new stacker on here:

It is very wise to avoid expensive mistakes made by all new stackers only learning from other's mistakes.
Cheers and happy stacking, my friend!🤗
    Stefan.

Hello, hopefully this will go in the new members section as I'm not sure WTF I'm doing. I dont do social media so navigating the forum is a bit of a maze for me so I would first like to apologise to all the sellers I bought from who I didnt leave feedback for. No complaints at all I just didn't have a clue how to do it until recently. I've been stacking/collecting bullion coins and bars for a few years now and am personally gutted I didnt join years ago as I could have saved myself a few quid and gained a lot more experience a lot quicker.
My next mission is to work out how to put up a wanted listing for a gold maplegram 25 set. Been after one for a while now and they seem to be as rare as unobtainium. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Cheers people 👍

Cheating slightly since I received these all earlier in the week, but since they all came from forum members here, I thought I'd share!  The Brit tubes were from @GreatBritishBullion, the air-tite capsule for the Una bar was from @BiteSizeTrader, and the ASE and Pamp bar were my auction wins from @Jamesd 's MS Society fundraiser.  Gorgeous pieces all round!  🥰
