  1. It's bad, right? I've had scuffed coins before and never bothered with returning, but I think the damage to these is excessive enough that I'm going to have to see about sending the flawed ones back. I hope they just give me an exchange. I really love these coins, and I normally don't mind a few scratches, but the premiums are too high to overlook this kind of damage.
  2. Got mine! What a beautiful coin, but I can see the quality control issues that others have picked up on. I don't expect a proof finish on a bullion coin, but the Queen's head has taken a bit of a battering during the minting on three out of four of my silver coins, which is disappointing. I really want this series to do well, and I think it's got a lot of promise, but RM are hobbling it with a reputation for poor production quality before it's had the chance to find it's feet.
  3. I got mine the other day. The photos are a bit rough, but you get the idea. It's a truly beautiful design. I've never bought gold bullion before, but the artwork on this coin made me take the plunge.
  4. Sounds to me like he jumped into bullion thinking that it would be an instant money maker without appreciating the fact that prices go down as well as up. I raised my eyebrows a bit when he said: "I have absolutely no interest in gold as a possession". I can't understand why you'd get into stacking if you don't care much about the metals themselves. Collecting bullion is an extremely long term investment with absolutely no guarantees of profit. If you don't love these coins for their beauty, and if you don't enjoy collecting as a hobby, then what's the point?
  5. I dunno, I think the sheer bulk that 100 oz brick detracts from the design a little bit. That could just be jealousy talking though - a hefty bit of silver like that is waaaaay out of my price range! That 10 oz version keeps calling out to me though. I almost hope they go out of stock soon to remove the temptation. I keep telling myself that I need to focus more on stacking for a bit, but RM keep producing these gorgeous pieces to tempt my inner collector...
  6. I think the series will hit its stride once Maid Marion is released (the market definitely has a preference for artwork depicting beautiful women!) The Arthurian mythology will almost certainly make an appearance, and if each theme gets three coins, I’m guessing that it will be Arthur, Guinevere and Merlin. I can see those being popular with collectors. After that, I’m less certain. Shakespeare’s fairy court of Oberon, Titania and Puck would make a nice set, or perhaps figures from the Mabinogion like Rhiannon, Blodeuwedd or Bran the Blessed. I think the series could be a surprise hit
  7. History Debunked is a very astute gent - one of my favourite Youtubers.
  8. Both of the designs are fairly ugly imo, and I have a pathological aversion to anything 'woke', so it's a pass from me.
  9. I joined the forum just to get opinions on this coin! I missed out on the Queen's Beasts series, and I like the idea of getting in at the start of a series (especially at bullion prices), and I think the mythic theme of this set will have a similar appeal as the heraldic beasts...but I'm a complete newbie, and I'm a bit worried that I'm letting my enthusiasm for the design of the Robin Hood coin sweep me away and I could end up with a costly dud. Is the lack of mintage limits something to be worried about?
