  1. Write to them with a 'signed for' letter asking them to stop. In your letter state that you give them 30 days to comply and that any further communications with them will be a breach of GDPR and you will report them to the ICO (Information Commissioner Office). That usually gets their attention. If they do write again, report them to the ICO who will investigate why they do not comply with data law.
  2. These matters are outside your control.....
  3. Thank you Lawrence. Whilst I appreciate that delays are frustratiing for customers (me included) I have to say that Chards have been excellent at keeping me up to date with expected delivery dates. Had there been no communication / updates I would have (rightly) been concerned as to where my coin was and what had happened to my money. Sounds like the issue has been almost resolved and the coins will be with you soonish.
  4. I would suggest you contact Chards to ask why. Maybe @LawrenceChard can advise? I'm in the same position as you but I'm in no rush and I would rather wait for the sovereign than cancel the order.
  5. I am concerned about crypto for many reasons. Mainly because I don't understand it. Also, what happens if you can't get online because there's no power or you don't have an internet connection or you forget your password or any other number of reasons? For me, crypto is a big no. For others who know more about it I'm sure they are comfortable with their position. Each to their own.
  6. Gold and silver for sure. Crypto falls into the category of "if you don't hold it, you don't own it" for me. Cash - sure, but it's only good if people believe it's a store of wealth. Once confidence goes in it, it's worthless.
  7. A comprehensive and well considered response.
  8. Personally I prefer to collect new sovereigns. Buying them from a trusted source gives me confidence they are not fakes and I'm a bit OCD about condition - prefer them to be unscratched etc. I can certainly see the appeal of older sovereigns though.
  9. I've been following this with interest. Is the buyer going to ask for a refund from the auction house now the sovereign has been proved to be a fake?
  10. A few more bullion sovs for the stack (bought before the gold price increases).
  11. Nah. I might buy another blanket and jumper though.
  12. Sold a few Brits (1 oz, half, quarter and 1/10th). Got £1575 for the 1oz.
  13. You could do worse than ask @BackyardBullion for some advice. He should be able to answer most of your questions.
  14. Was never a fan of the coins but I quite like these. Not enough to buy one though.
  15. Never had a problem with Bleyer. Bought a few items from them and they have always been polite and great at keeping me updated.
  16. Latest additions to the proof sovereign and half sovereign date run. Off to grading soon.
  17. Here are two different coins from the same auction. The first picture is the one I think looks a bit odd. When compared side by side the bottom one has a 'deeper' edge to the coin (as I would expect). The top one seems almost too 'flat' by comparison - if you understand me. No, I haven't informed the auctioneer. I do not consider myself experienced enough to tell whether this is a fake or not, hence asking for advice here.
  18. There are some other George V sovereigns in the auction. They look very different - more as I would expect a sovereign to look.
