Agreed.
A number of people hyped recent (last 5 years or so) RM issues. I have no knowledge of their dealings but I suspect they were sellers of the hype, and made money out of the issues.
Personally I see less than zero reasons to buy modern issues - then or now. I don’t mean to upset any members - bit the confected (often poor quality) coins are boring.
As I mentioned on another thread - something genuine, like a modern hammered coin - in restricted numbers I would buy. Recreating a process, renewing a technique etc.
I have recently seen (this week) an independent analytics company forecast rates next year at 0.5pct and 2025 at 0.1, then rising again to 2pct.
I continue to buy.

Interesting thought Marc, thank you - Full disclosure, I do have a 2012 Full Sovereign & a 2002 Half Sovereign (both bullion) and would like to complete those with the half & full versions too - and maybe add the 2005 Full & Half, to cover the single year designs available in bullion. Would make sense to have the 2022 versions in addition to the ones mentioned 🤔
