  1. Isn't that the machine that they struck the new Queens Beast on 🙂
  2. Or a Terminator series.... The coins could have a design with..... "I'll be back...." as they surely would be to the Mint 🙂
  3. Basically.... bubble wrap around it and then either in a sealable jiffy bag of preferably I use a box... also good idea to add some tissue paper in the tube so that the lid stays on but you don't get the coins moving up and down
  4. Mr BYB fancy a new role as Head of Quality control at RM 🤣
  5. To me its basic logic... you strike 300 coins you will always get some that are sub standard.... you mint until you get (as you said) all 300 to a respectable level (and for me this should be 70 not 68) and then ensure that from the strike to the packaging nothing occurs
  6. On a mintage of 300 I wonder how many have been returned? 15/20%, possibly more.... I am assuming those that have been placed on Flea Bay may not necessarily highlight any faults 🙂
  7. This is my worry.... there is a serious issue with the RM process post striking of the coin as those fibres are from the surrounding packaging in the box and suggest to me that teh coins are palced into the capsule with the lid of inside the box itself rather than in an isolation (well away form) other sources where they can pick up dust/hairs
  8. I agree.... on these sorts of issues that are high value, low mintage they should have an NGC type inspector to value and assess prior to launch. Well I am doing an experiment. I have sent my 1/2 and 2oz coins off to NGC... although it will be a long wait it will be interesting to see how each of them fair....
  9. I totally agree..... It really irks me that they don't see the post striking process as important and as we have seen (BYBs box for the 2oz QB's) items are clearly getting issues from the striking to the packaging and beyond. It would be funny if they wrote "struck to the highest quality, well sometimes, and care taken to ensure they reach the customer in the same way, sometimes, with imperfections quality controlled for a better experience, sometimes" .. hahah
  10. They look silver...... I personally haven't seen anything like that on my gold coins... on silver something similar... I would send back if not right as you will have the option to have them returned by RM if they can't or won't give a new set... just my opinion
  11. Trouble is... although they state "no marks or imperfections are caused during striking"... They have indicated that 68 and above is acceptable for the products as a whole when sending out to clients 🙂 To me on low mintage, high value items they need to look at the process post striking
  12. Ok I know "the Who" range had mixed reviews... but as a Who fan I had to get the 5oz silver and must say... WOW... The definition on the 5 oz (hopefully the 2oz when I get it) is stunning and this is going to get graded for sure.. Will it be a big earner? Who cares (pardon the pun....) P.S. my picture doesn't do it justice
  13. I bought 10 yesterday from Atkinsons and they were cheaper than RM

    Skint again

    I picked up 10 yesterday 😉

    Skint again

Just as I think the money in my account looks good.... BOOM... another coin purchase... and like you Skint again
  16. Yeah.. they moved to a new solution and the notifications were mucked up they are trying to sort it out
  17. Yeah i thought it was something like that
  18. I thought the main reason for the milk spotting was the cleaning chemicals used 🙂
  19. I just re-checked my set... and there are no defects, spotting, scratches etc... no guarantee they will all get 70's but I think I will take chance
  20. They do... they will look at a coin and if its a 68 or better then it will pass... the problem is... on a small mintage I believe this s not good enough... for a run of 310 coins it should be reviewed by them as 70s i.e. no blemishes. Ok NGC may grade and see it lower (as grading is subjective) but all that I have seen should not be allowed on such a high profile, low mintage set of coins
