  1. Hello! Welcome to the forum. In the long run, buying the shiny stuff is like spending money without spending money !
  2. If RM is prepared to issue you with a full refund, then I would return it. Buy elsewhere and save a bit a cash.
  3. You would have thought for a bullion dealer, they would have a Sigma or XRF machine or something similar to verify the metal content if nothing else. It wouldn't inspire confidence if a punter on ebay had to tell them it was a fake. It isn't too difficult to spot a fake when you place them side by side.
  4. I suspect the minting of the obverse/reverse and side inscription must have been a two stage process ie. Coins were struck with obverse and reverse completed on one machine then transferred onto another machine for inscription. Whichever process was done first, in order for the inscription to read in a certain direction, then someone would have to turn all the coins the "right" way up for the second stage process. I think this would be far too labour intensive for mass produced coins. So the Mint must have decided not to bother and let them be random.
  5. Hello! Welcome to the forum. You are in the right place. There are plenty useful information about precious metals on the forum. Enjoy !
  6. What the hell happened ! Crimex opened and then slam. Gold is down 2.5% in GBP today so far and 1.6% in USD !
  7. Corrected for you. Seems like your fingers are too big for the keyboard ! 😁
  8. So let's do some maths for private sales (this is how I understand the trade ) :- 9 x sovereigns (@£375 each) plus £65 cash =£3,440 150 x Silver Brits (@£23 each) =£3.450. Seems like a fair exchange at today's prices if you're trading on the forum.
  9. Hello! Welcome to the forum. Hope you can find that xfactor coin on the forum.
  10. Hello! Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your journey on collecting precious metals.
  11. I wanted to ask this question for a long time, what % commission do you charge sellers !? 🤑😂
  12. Some members may have already accumulated a few ounces before joining the forum, so probably do not see the need to buy or sell on here. Beside, TSF being UK centric and not every member still resides in the UK. There are cheaper VAT-free PMs elsewhere. Having said that, personally I rarely comment on sales posts. I do read them out of interest for PMs and to see what's on offer. The comments are usually one liners and can easily be skipped. I do not find them annoying unless there are too long. I can understand why it can be distracting and annoying to some members particularly if the comment adds no value. I like to think that members who have been on the forum long enough should know the characters on here - who you can joke with etc. I find the recent auctions humorous. Silly but fun 😂 and unlikely to be in everyone's taste. I have agree that the forum should not become a sterile environment as it could become very boring. There are members from all walks of life. Some likes certain topics more than others. Members who do not like those topics can simply skip them. No one has to waste time by reading through them. Overall, I find the forum fairly balanced. The core subject being about coins and precious metals. Then there are the fringe topics.......... PS. In writing all that, only +5 points towards my Grand Master badge. Are people commenting on sales threads just to gain easy points !!? 😂
  13. You didn't trawl through the sales posts to find these comments did you !? 🤔 😂🤣👍
  14. Hello! Welcome to the forum. There are plenty of useful information on the forum and some goodies for sale too. However, the goodies are usually sold in hours, sometimes minutes. So for non-premium members who cannot view the sales posts until after 72 hours, they will be long gone before you get to see it. Enjoy the ride !
  15. Yes, and with the window wide opened for fresh air ! 😎

    Best Buy

I'd say buy what you like best as there isn't a huge difference in price. Having said that, if you were to sell on the forum at a later date, then I suspect the 1/2oz Britannia will be more sought after.
  18. I watched the video at x1.5 speed and you sound far better ! 😁 Good job on your 1st vid 👍
  19. Unfortunately, it only means the £Pound is tanking ! Still, sure glad I sold my £Pound for Dollars again yesterday. 🤑
  20. You can collect 300 Nectar points too !! 👍😂
  21. @Colnago see I told you some wealthy dude will continue to buy ! 😁
  22. People who are far wealthier than you or me. When I started buying gold, it was under £750 / oz. I thought it was expensive back then. I stopped buying for a time when it was over £1,000. Today, £1,500+ / oz is the going rate and people are still buying. Some wealthy investors will continue to buy when it reaches £2,500+ /oz.
