  1. "Dear colleagues, this 24. of September 2022 will be a day remaining in our memories as a day we will say, I remember exactly where I was" A legislator in Germany took to the floor of the Bundestag this past week, and let slip a date: September 24. He said on the floor of the Germany legislature:
  2. I have traced the stack all the way down to ground level and the stacker lives in Manchester. Who is he then !? 😁
  3. This is an example of what happens when someone buys a low demand / high supply overpriced proof coin.
  4. ....then that's a good result. I would be curious to know whether the ASE is real though.
  5. Maybe wages has something to do it then maybe not ! I have to ask why would the Perth Mint and Chinese Mint produce far better consistent quality products. I highly doubt they are paid way above those employed at RM.
  6. You must have heard the saying, "if something seems too good to be true then it probably is ! "
  7. Is there a club formed by the silver producing / mining nations like that of OPEC, a cartel for oil ? I can't think of one. But then again if silver were to shot up in price by a huge amount, then I suspect some of us might complain why is silver so expensive when compared to mining costs. 😊 At the current price of silver, and if anyone is outside of ripoff Britain with no VAT, then silver is a no brainer, well worth speculating on IMHO. Some miners can't even produce silver for less than spot price. Go figure !
  8. There's an article written by Martin at SilverTrader on the issue on RM quality control. He writes about his personal experience in dealing with RM. It seems as though RM UK staff takes no pride in what they do. Hence, the substandard in quality of their products. https://www.silvertrader.uk/royal-mint-quality-control-has-no-standards/
  9. We have all caught a bug and a fever at some stage in our lives which is why we're here on the forum. The common theme is gold ....... gold bug, gold fever .......... and some silver too ! Welcome to the forum. 🤗
  10. Out of interest, which monarch will be on the obverse ?
  11. Hello! Welcome to the forum. For collectors in the UK, I suspect most will prefer Silver Britannia coins.
  12. Hello! Welcome to the forum. It is a great place to gain knowledge if you are new to precious metals.
  13. The spot price of silver up 70 Pence (4.2%) as I type. Ratio now at 87-1.
  14. But think about the letters after your name - OBE, MBE & Lord Chard of Blackpool !! 🤩
  15. I view them like this: Bullion coins are those made of gold, silver, or platinum. They are specifically purchased for investments and/or store of value. These coins are normally defined by weight and valued based on the price of metal content. Numismatic coins are rare collectibles with historical value. Their value is beyond the intrinsic value of the metal content. Then there are the crossovers, Semi-Numismatics - Proofs, limited editions. They can also be old bullion releases that have become desirable to collectors. For example, the high mintage years of pre-1933 American double eagles. Semi-Numismatics normally have a much higher premium over standard bullion.
  16. Who have you been listening to - was it Harry Dent by any chance ?
  17. They were: Question 1: Will Chards be offering free postage to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III ? Question 2: Would Queen Camilla and King Charles III be welcomed were they to visit Chards of Blackpool ? 😎
  18. Pre-1947 Half Crowns are 50% silver. Anything after are cupro-nickel. So the 1948 half crowns aren't made of silver.
  19. There were plenty of unloved sterling silver coins out there when I last bought. For example, the 1976 Canada Olympics $5 & $10 silver sets can be had below spot price at the time. I purchased quite a few ounces.
  20. In years to come, I suspect the 2022 sovereign will hold a small premium over the normal St George & Dragon design from previous years. This will be due to the fact the 2022 release is a different design from the norm and will be a little more desirable.
  21. A couple of people had already expressed their interest at 65-1. But it sounds like your half-hearted about a swap. 😊

  23. If you are serious, then why not create a new post and specify the conditions of exchange ie. 1oz gold Britannia for a minimum 70 1oz Silver CGT bullion. I would dearly love to know who would take up the offer. I know there are a few silver bears on the forum so perhaps one might deal if they back up their words with deeds. But I doubt it at 70+ !
