  1. These little 1 Oz tiddlers we're all buying are fractional compared to the big boy bars
  2. It's a free market so you could personally choose to do that and choose not to sell anything that falls above that £ threshold if it is an idea you believe in. As it is now, anyone can list any of their metals at any price they wish. The buyers have the freedom to choose whether or not that is a price they want to pay after considering a number of factors such as, risks involved, quality of goods available, other opportunities with other sellers here and elsewhere.... The sellers who choose to operate within a few basic guidelines and bring quality offerings to the sales pages are often rapidly compensated for their efforts.
  3. It's a free market. If you want to sell on those terms write it into your sales listing and see it anyone wants to risk it. Somebody might 👍🏼
  4. I did look in Spink book too
  5. Just under 1 million mintage according to this link but only bullion value as far as I can see https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/info/sovereign-mintages#Victoria
  6. Gold spot in £ terms says more of the GBPUSD exchange rate. We're 2% off in £ terms which could be pipped out in a single trading day
  7. Correct. From BBP 'all time' Alltime high £1,574.37
  8. If you were selling here I for one would trust you as I imagine many members would. You've been around a while and often contribute into threads. I might not necessarily be a buyer for your particular items though or I might not be shopping at the time you happen to list but the trust wouldn't be a problem.
  9. I think I just found your listing... It looks good, clear photos and information. The coin isn't something I'm personally collecting but give it more time and a buyer will likely come along. Some members might like to see a piece of paper with your username and date on the photo to show the coin is in hand, also the silver trade option seems to value silver quite low in my opinion although spot price has been a little volatile recently. I'd give it a bump and just hang on Good luck with the sale
  10. The word 'how' implied a question when you said "Now how is a new seller supposed to get feedback if no one buys from them." I've started you off with some constructive ideas to help you with your apparent issue of not yet having much trading feedback, there might be others with additional or better ideas that will chip in to help you also
  11. Being an active member in the forum without buying or selling would be a great start. For eg there are long standing members here with very few feedback but they have been here a while and regularly contribute in threads, whilst they have no sales feedback many would buy from them without hesitation. Some members have started with smaller items and built up from there. Others have done the pay on receipt option. Some have used intermediary services or met in person Not a conclusive list but some ideas to start.
  12. Haven't had to pay cash advance fees or any charges buying from Atkinson's or Bullion By Post with MasterCard. @Darr3nG I think it was had an unexpected fee and mentioned it in a prior thread
  13. Did you buy them from the Royal mail or Royal Mint? 👀 Check your card issuers T&C's what they deem as a purchase Vs what they treat as a cash advance. There isn't a purchase limit but some dealers will ask for ID docs after a certain amount spent... Requirements to do with AML and KYC requirements
  14. In terms of PM related resolutions... 1 - Try and catch @James32s gold stack, I'm not quite counting in tons get though. 2 - Stack bullion sovs ideally, 1 oz if premiums are lower. 3 - Continue on Tudor Beasts golds
  15. @Silverlocks what do you think grade wise? 24ct gold baked beans perhaps
  16. I figured as I've most of those from just buying at best value prices. Binlord alarm going off
  17. Not that I can see... @dicker or @Orpster would probably know better. The 2021 is just a bog standard bullion coin so take £370 off the 'rrp' and that gives the remaining 4 coins a £970 value each apparently or £600 each from the buy it now price, do the mint marks add that much? - 2021 Queen Elizabeth Full Sovereign. - 1890 Queen Victoria Jubilee Head Full Sovereign - London Mint. - 1926 King George V - Full Sovereign - SA Mint. - 1877 Queen Victoria Full Sovereign - Young Head - Melbourne Mint - Reverse Die. - 1900 Queen Victoria Full Sovereign - Old Head (Veiled Head) - Sydney Mint.
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285078910548 🌟 🌟 🌟 5 Coin Full Gold Sovereign collection. RRP: £4250 🌟🌟🌟 "This bundle is valued at over £3000. (This would be more if purchased individually)" Asking a mere £2795 buy it now.... Am I missing something ?
  19. I was going to suggest this. Could use a tiny sticker to do this too
  20. @richatthecroft wow a near 400 year old coin in such condition. I wonder if some of these other stunning modern proofs through this thread will be in such good condition in 400 years ?
  21. I can't make my mind up but it would be one of these for a favourite.
  22. Someone say dinosaur ? 👀 I think collecting anything can branch into being a bit irrational even from the start. It's the excitement of the hunt for the next in the set or the elusive date. I suppose if gold loses its intrinsic value and gold is no longer valued then we wouldn't have the 'melt' value to fall back on. People collect all sorts though that would only sell at the 'market' price to a like-minded buyer. Like people collecting designer gear or toys it's only value is as a collectible? Gold we can take to most corners of the globe and trade it for currency to buy goods at least
