  1. What on earth would I be buying that for 🤣 To clarify you would use your actual cost when working out profit or loss but if you were for eg calculating your net worth on a particular day it would be no good valuing your assets higher than what you'd get for them
  2. If I bought a monster box of Brits now my cost would be £13150 (£26.30 an oz) just picked Atkinson's price as I had their site open. This would be fixed. I'd call current value as £8875 though at current spot £17.75 oz this would change depending on the day I calculated
  3. I have 2 numbers my cost and current vaule. Record the total cost as James said so what you paid for the items including delivery, vat, storage etc. For current value I just take the number of Oz X spot price.
  4. Can't find a better pic but also nice in 10 oz.
  5. What sort of price are they going for recently?
  6. I really like the design. From memory about 5k mintage on the earlier years 1 Oz gold...But... I just went to check and can't find that any more. For silver stackers paying another 10% on top of already high premiums for Britannias is probably off putting to stack tubes of them.
  7. An interesting 'excuse' to call which could sound plausible to many who have no idea what's going on. Probably a painful few minutes after dropping on the phone with yourself though. I don't really think the CGT changes will cause a surge in gold buying or anything like that but some people may be a bit more choosy on what they buy in the bulk of their stacks.
  8. I wouldn't panic sell but what if we were in a digital currency system and cash sales were off the table in a few years time. Unless you're selling at a loss or break even it would appear that CGT free coins currently make more sense for stacking
  9. Next financial year the total is set to drop to £12k combined and 6k for the following year.
  10. All the best Frank. Hope you enjoy a great festive period with the family
  11. I get up early 👍🏼 Yeah I take note of some of the more interesting fiat milestones but the weight is what I target too
  12. GBP down Vs dollar then gold = more expensive relatively. As @CANV says, when demand for dollars is higher it's a headwind for gold price.
  13. Sovs are CGT exempt currently. For bars though... Assuming you don't blow through the threshold already with the disposal of a few shares outside an ISA or maybe just taking a bit of profit on one of the investment properties. I bet there are people who started buying gold bars when price was below £1k an Oz only a few years ago 🤔 A few Oz and you're giving profit away 😬 https://www.gov.uk/capital-gains-tax/rates
  14. Purchase price usually what matters when calculating CGT liability
  15. Autumn budget today... Apparently Capital Gains Tax allowance to be reduced along with dividend allowance over the coming years Individual rate currently £12300 CGT allowance 2023-24 £6000 CGT allowance 2024-25 £3000 Worth having a read of the below summary. Incase the idea of capital gains tax is new to you in terms of our PMs the gold and silver coins with a £ face value like Britannias and sovereigns, Tudor beasts, Queens beasts etc are not currently liable for CGT anyway but should you make a profit when you dispose of many silver and gold bars, profit over this threshold would be liable. Ask your 'ccoun'nt 😏 https://www.which.co.uk/news/article/capital-gains-and-dividends-tax-changes-in-the-2022-autumn-statement-ac6kT0e7yZ4X
  16. I know a guy. If he's not too busy moving firewood this time of year
  17. Who is looking to get the tenth Oz coins from different countries still? One you don't see every day with a ship on it. https://atkinsonsbullion.com/pre-owned/gold/pre-owned-gold-coins/pre-owned-2021-cook-islands-bounty-1-10oz-gold-coi
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195430898493 🤣
  19. Postie has just turned up with mine. ****ing hell that was quick.
  20. Haven't spotted many for sale. I think a member traded one recently for a QB 1 Oz but don't know the finer details. Have you seen them in stock anywhere?
