  4. I have always wondered why a business would take payment for sovereigns when they have not even sourced the stock. One obvious answer would be if there is a drop in spot price during the waiting period, then the dealer could then afford to pay a higher premium within the trade to secure stock in volume and still make a profit. The chances are spot will always likely have some kind of dip within a 4-6 month period. However, I have often wondered what would happen if spot price was to steadily rise steadily over a 4-6 period. Would the dealer then purchase stock at a higher price to fulfill customer orders and make a financial loss, or would they simply just refund the money and claim they could not secure the stock. This method would then provide a risk free opportunity to the dealer.

  9. A few years ago, I nearly fell victim to a scam via one of the online groups. It was for a keenly priced 10z Scottsdale stacker (approx. £20 under the going rate at the time) and the seller appeared to have vouches, so all seemed ok. However, when attempting to do the transfer, my bank app alerted me the account name did not match the account number, so I knew something was not quite right. The name of the profile was Rebecca Miller, however, when I reached out to the seller and advised the name did not match, they provided another name of which was A A Matenga and offered the excuse a member of the family also used the account, lol! I then challenged the seller and informed them this was clearly a fraudulent scam. Within minutes, the Rebecca Miller profile was deleted and the scammer vanished. In hindsight, the price alone should have raised alarm bells, however, if it was not for the security feature on the Barclays app, the scammer would have succeeded! That's why I believe TSF will always be a safer platform to acquire PM's, as it offers more in terms of security (via feedback) to trade PM's. Feedback is everything on TSF and without it, I would argue you would struggle to sell a tin of beans!
  10. Absolute mayhem this auction! 🤣
  11. Hi, if these become available again, please let me know. I would be interested in a box. Thanks Rob
  12. I never even knew free delivery for TSF members was available at any point, could have saved myself a small fortune.
  13. I had some terrible experiences during December, sending via 1st class signed for. A number of items going missing completely after posting and a few taking up to 3 weeks to arrive. However, all parcels sent in Jan have been via special delivery and this has worked fine. I've also noticed when selling a few items on ebay, that the tracking sometimes does not get updated, even when the buyer has confirmed receipt of the item. This leads me to think that some unscrupulous buyers are likely making claims for non receipt of items, even though it has been delivered and ebay will always provide a refund if no actual proof of delivery can be provided. I hope Royal Mail can get there act together before it's to late.
  14. Merry Xmas all, hope Santa is kind may all of your stacking dreams come true in 2023!
  15. Excellent company, limited range of stock but perfect for stackers, especially gold. Prices are excellent and service is 1st class.
  16. Send it via Royal Mail special delivery, inform them of the contents and you will be fully insured up to £2500. Cost will be approx. £8 depending on the value you insure for.
  17. In my experience, they are not very desirable to collectors / stackers, with the occasional exception. This may explain why they can be purchased relatively close to spot price but also difficult to sell. Personally, I wouldn't want to hold many in my stack, unless my end goal was to send them to a refiner in the long term.
