Good grief, I can't even beat you at responding to a post never mind the 'buy & sell' page! 😂

Precious metals are weighed in Troy ounces. 1 x Troy ounce = 31.1g 1 x standard ounce = 28g Try weighing the bars in grams and they should be approx. 311g each. Thanks Rob
  3. I would like to participate. Prize will be a 1oz .999 silver bar plus a USA .900 Half dollar (Franklin, Walker or Kennedy 64). Winner can choose which half dollar type they prefer. Thanks Rob
  4. Margins tend to be very low on bullion sovereigns for dealers. My regular dealer tends to buy from the public at spot price and sells at spot +5%. Will also never budge on price for bullion sovereigns but will usually be willing to negotiate on world gold coins, often depending on how long he has been sitting on the stock and of course how much he paid for the coin(s).
  5. My own experience is that keenly priced bullion sells fast on all platforms at all times, which is ideal when needing to raise a little cash. However, most of the numismatic and premium items tend to vary wildly in average selling times and sold prices. I would argue that coin collecting / stacking is one of the best hobbies out there, as unlike most other hobbies you can often recoup most of the funds spent and even make a few quid on a good day. 😀
  6. Wow, looks even better on your pictures. Pleased you like it.
  7. Welcome to the forum, there are many great items to be had at excellent prices. Enjoy the journey. 😀
  8. That's very interesting to discover and it confirms peoples experience with this particular coin is varied. For some reason, it doesn't appear to follow the general rules of price point compared to most other bullion coins. Appreciate your response. Thank you
  9. I mainly stack 999 with the exception of some Pre 1920 scrap. I think I will just put these back in storage and keep them for a rainy day. Totally agree with your point on BBP, was just curious more than anything else. Thank you
  10. This particular tube has some toning on the edges but i have no idea on the condition of the actual coins, other than the ones on each end, which both appear to be fine. Silver ache, lol. I will never look at a milk spotted coin the same again. 😀 Thank you
  11. They are certainly an interesting coin in terms of fluctuating prices. Think holding them maybe the best option and will see how things go in future. Thank you
  12. I always like to sell at fair prices and on occasions leave some 'meat on the bone' for others to extract. However, I may end up putting these back in storage, as i don't think I could find a price that works at the current time. Interesting point about the 0.958 silver, i never considered this at the time of purchase. Thank you for your help.
  13. Thank you for your response. £32 is lower than I hoped based on the information i've seen but appreciate the ebay prices may just be an anomaly. Wonder why BBP are asking such a high price. I agree with you on ebay being the wild west. I used to sell a few bits and pieces on there a few years ago but gave up due ebay policies always being in favor of the buyer. Always felt cheated losing my coins and having to refund. Thanks
  14. Good evening I have a full unopened tube (x 20 old style clear packaging) of 2001 Silver bullion Britannia's that i'm possibly considering selling. Upon researching online, I noticed they seem pretty scarce on the secondary market and the sold priced vary wildly. I noticed Bullion By Post have them listed (although out of stock) for £97.80 per coin which seems crazy. Ebay prices also seem all over the place. I would be grateful if anyone could provide any information on what they believe is a true price for these coins. Much appreciated. Rob
  15. Some lovely coins, although sold priced may fluctuate wildly. Might be worth taking them to a specialist dealer, many offer free valuations. Maybe obtain prices for a hand full from your own research and see how much the difference is between your valuation and the dealers. Could save you lots of time and the dealer may make a nice offer.
  16. I attended this show today and can highly recommend it to fellow forum members. Lots of variety and something for everyone, prices were very reasonable from most dealers and it was an enjoyable experience. Will certainly go again in the new year.
  17. Firstly, I think you really have to enjoy the hobby of precious metals otherwise it would be easy to lose interest in continuing to make purchases. I have seen many new stackers / collectors enter the market and invest heavily, only to quickly lose interest when the hype disappears and then selling at a loss. Precious metals will rarely make anyone rich but they can be a fun way to accumulate wealth / store funds over a long period and of course hopefully retain purchasing power. I would always encourage new stackers to make a few sales to become familiar with the process, as it can sometimes be time consuming and may not suit everyone. However, it was only through experience and selling many items online over a period of time, that I discovered what worked best for me. I remember watching an old you tube video from 'Cull Silver', who is a long term stacker in the USA and he explained that he only truly learned what silver to buy once he had attempted to sell some silver, and this really stuck with me and it's so true. I guess if I was starting out again in 2021, I personally would focus mainly on bullion sovereigns and Pre 1920 British scrap silver coins, as they are highly liquid and tend to be a spot price play, and limit my premium purchases to a small amount of collectable pieces. However, i'm sure many other forum members will have different views and ideas and that's what makes this community great. Finally, there is a lot more resources available now online and via The Silver forum to help new stackers make educated decisions, compared to the limited information available 5 years ago and if you are unsure about anything, you can always ask question via this forum, prior to making a purchase. Hope this helps.
  18. I have a number of these bars and at a glance it looks genuine. I think there is some tarnish on the corners, which indicates silver. Still, not ideal if the seller described the bar to being in excellent condition.
  19. Certainly looks suspect to me but it doesn't look like one of the mass produced Chinese fakes either, unless they are improving.
  20. Personally, I find it much easier to save in metals than I do in fiat, so tend to buy little and often regardless of spot price. I still get to scratch my itch to spend cash whilst saving at the same time. It's amazing how quickly it accumulates over time and the hobby brings immense enjoyment.
  21. Terrible idea by the marketing department, although they probably changed there mind after discovering the real cost of creating a solid gold can!
  22. Would you not get a higher price advertising on this forum compared to a dealer?
