TSF is a worldwide forum with many members from all over the world. Although there are a lot of UK member there are also quite a few members in the USA too. You can see the spot price in the top of the forum, just click not he spot price bar to change the currency

There are also two separate topics to discuss silver spot price, one in GBP and one in USD. Please do check them out.

Thank you for your suggestion. At present we have decided against asking for donations.

We simply ask for members who appreciate TSF to consider Premium Membership. The cost of membership is extremely low comparatively and in exchange members will receive all of the listed benefits of each package.
We have kept Premium Membership at a very affordable low price, and the lowest cost option of Silver Premium Membership starts at just £5.99 per month (or less than £4.92 equivalent monthly cost when purchased annually)

Members can of course by a one off month if they wish, instead of renewing each month/year. We feel that offering Premium Membership with added benefits is a fairer way than asking for donations. We have also kept a free standard membership option for those who can’t afford membership but who are still interested in precious metals. We believe though that the value of services that we provide members far outweighs the cost of a Premium Membership and we hope that you can see the value that TSF provides, as an educational resource, a source of entertainment and a precious metals marketplace with 0% commissions on buying and selling.
If you calculate the time spent on TSF alone, the cost of a paid membership for a member is likely extremely cost effective, even before including the benefits of the chosen package. When adding the amount of money saved on buying and selling precious metals on TSF the value of supporting TSF with Premium Membership makes even more sense.
We do also have a merchandise store (link in my signature) though the best way to support TSF is with a Premium Membership.
Thank you again to those who choose to support TSF with Premium Membership and an extra special thank you to Platinum Group Premium Members.

If you want exposure to the underlying spot price you could also consider services such as allocated silver like bullionvault.com but if you are purely looking for physical silver and take delivery as cheaply as possible then buying in the secondary (used) market will get you the lowest prices.

Yes, TSF = The Silver Forum

We have one of the largest peer to peer marketplaces for precious metals.

I think most silver at spot will likely be snapped up pretty quickly, as silver in the UK has VAT added as well as premiums. Feel free to start a wanted topic in the trade section though

Please do make sure you have read the applicable QuickStart guide to trading as it contains useful and important information before trading on the forum.

I hope this is of some help   and I wish you luck in your stacking journey

Scrap silver / damaged silver coins, should be worth at least spot price IMO, as you should be able to easily sell for spot price on TSF. There has been silver sold at spot on TSF in the past, most silver will have some margin though. It may be better to purchase other items in good condition as depending on what you purchase most of the margin can be recouped if selling directly on the secondary market (i.e. selling directly to other collectors/investors on TSF) Selling to a dealer will get you a lower amount (likely less than spot price)

Honestly, short attention span. I’ve recently just got into collecting gold beginning of this year and I’m kinda like a kid in a sweat shop at the moment lol. I’m seeing all these new coins coming out and my interest is peaked. Trying to buy them all on a shoe string budget 😅
I don’t want you thinking I’m trying to flip these for a quick profit, I can assure you that’s not the case. I’m either selling these coins for what I’ve paid for them or at a loss (with exception of the lion)
Simply just trying to raise funds for a new purchase 🙂

Hello dear friends, once again a new entry. 10oz silver Kookaburra 2021, very small edition and hard to get and if then at high prices. I was able to buy one quite cheaply from a private collector. Now I have 2 of them. I wish you all a nice weekend and greetings from Maxe.

Hi all. It's been a while since I've been a 'forum' member.
A few of you might recognise me from the coin collecting community for the last 4/5year. Via YouTube, discord and a few other socials.
I'm Andy, a collector of any metal currency discs. 😆
Started to get the silver and gold bug seriously in the last year or so. Was seriously into collecting any UK circulating and commemorative but it's boring me a wee bit now.
Thought I'd sign up here for some light reading and chatting with like minded individuals.
Heated about this place a while ago via some guys on YouTube but just decided to get the finger out and sign up.

    Thanks for having me.

Spot price is the price of raw metal basically refined out the door of the mine. Or paper traded metals.
As retail buyers and sellers spot doesn’t generally exist as we all have costs of buying and selling, VAT included. Not that it’s make believe but it’s thr industrial price.   Dealers are another matter and have higher costs of doing business but also offer instant sales, but even there offers below spot still irk me.

if you manage to buy at spot that’s a great deal but as a retail buyer you’d still expect some premium over spot even from ‘scrap silver’ as it’s still a finished product, refined and stamped. Plus in peer to peer transactions benefit has to be on both sides to make it attractive.
