Looking to get back into gold

Hi everyone. Not been on the forum in a long time, last time I was getting advice about selling my stack to free up some cash for a house move. That’s me all settled now and looking to start buying gold again. Set myself a target of 10oz by end of year and not sure if I should just stick to 1 oz coins like before or maybe grab some sovs having never owned any.

What are generally the best to buy for being closest to spot price ? And is atkinsons chards and hatton garden metals still the go to sites ?

Chards are decent, ordered some stuff from the sale recently and it came pretty quick!

I would strongly suggest you get a paid membership here and get a feel of how the current market is playing out. A standard member has to wait 3 days to see the new sales posts and that few quid subscription will be returned in savings on your first deal. Most of the best deals can go in seconds. The old expression- you snooze, you lose.

Lurk, compare and absorb information on the deals in various pages in the forums.

Its a marathon, but a race.

Yes, Tavex, Chards, Atkinsons, HGM offer specials but are they? For mere mortals-yes, but for TSF members-nah.

Thats all I’ve got.

Sovs for me and some of the best prices are here on the forum, I've made my membership fees back and some compared to prices elsewhere.

I'd add before deciding to sign up...

Currently I'm buying sovs and other fractionals if I can find them without massive premiums, If gold makes another big leap then 1oz coins may be a little harder to shift.

Don't forget the CGT problem if you're looking to buy big quantities.
