2023 Bullion Sovereign confirmed by Royal Mint

As the grapevine has suggested, the Royal Mint has confirmed that they will release a separate 2023 bullion Sovereign range some time this year.

My assumption is that it will coincide with the Coronation and be the bullion version of whatever design they come up with for the Proof.

I highly doubt they will do a bullion version of the Coronation Sovereign PLUS a standard G&D bullion Sovereign this year. That’d be overkill, even for the RM. 😆

Moved to the gold section. In future if you hit the 3 dots next to the first post and then report, then either myself or a moderator can move the topic over. This is usually much quicker and guarantees that it will be moved, as if you tag myself or a moderator it may get lost amongst notifications and also won’t be seen by all moderators.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve never hit that Report button so I didn’t realise it could be used for this. 🙂

I had indeed seen several posts from several members and dealers, but I believe this is the first time we have official confirmation from the Royal Mint themselves? Unless I missed an earlier statement from them (which is possible).

So no G&D again for 2023? How about G&D with a privy mark - maybe the King Charles III Royal cypher?

Someone here said the other day that there might be two Coronation SotD Sovereigns, one each for Charles and Camilla, with their cyphers as privy marks.

The G&D design could be a candidate for these SotDs.

There’s also Charles’ 75th birthday this year.
