Doesn’t anyone bother putting their silver in a ‘proper’ safe?🤔🤡

I do. I had one professionally installed for exactly that reason. I wouldn't want to leave my bullion lying around the house. Comes in useful for other valuables too and things like passport etc.

How does everyone store there 1oz silver coins? They’re fine in capsules but what then? I can’t just chick them in a box, I could obviously just put them in tubes but would prefer not to. Suggestions? Thanks.

Matt, @SilverDrum has a redtop tube with 20 foam insert capsules included, reach out if still looking.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Well my silver coins is mostly in tubes as they left whichever mint minted them.

For some reason unknown, possibly/ probably barminess, I acquired some rather attractive wooden boxes with Antelopes on and have trays of capsuled silver Krugerrands in them. They look rather canny.

My shiny kilo Beasts are capsuled in a Monster box.

I have a kilo bar of Umicore sat on the carpet propping a door open.

My gold coins are all in capsules. Except the Sov I dropped that rolled behind some furniture. Things never roll behind lightweight things like lamp tables, it's always sideboards or summat else big. I reckon Murphy probably covered that in a law.

I suppose any thieves would quite literally trip over the 1kg bar and not realise what it was just laying around!🤔😁 double bluff security 🫢

Maybe. The Made in China Krugerrand paper weight on coffee table would catch their eye as they fell!

My ambition is to use a 400oz bar as a doorstop someday, preferably in a house that costs less than the bar.  However, as I live in the Southeast, I think the latter will forever be aspirational.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

You'll neef gold then probably:

Or if you're sticking with silver you'll need to shift Ooop North. Some quality place like Sunderland to get a house cheaper than 400oz of silver!

I didn't specify silver, but I'd struggle to get a house cheaper than 400 oz of silver even in Indonesia.  Here in the heart of the High Weald, one would struggle to get a house (or even a hovel) for less than a good delivery bar if the estate agent's windows are to be believed. Even with a hovel, chances are somebody's gotten planning permission to put a loft in and sublet it.

Well I had silver in mind. Anyways, given I'm sat waiting for summat to happen I decided to answer the question can one acquire a des res for less than 400oz of silver.

BBP will sell me 400oz, consisting of 4 × 100oz bars for change from 11 grand. Or they would if they had some in stock!

It was way too easy, Rightmove, within 50 miles of the Mackems and there's plenty of auction properties starting at 5K. Yes, I know that's starting but some of them suck so bad they will not get a penny above reserve - says a man who once bought 3 houses at an auction - not that long ago either, Tony Bleurgh was PM - and had change from 20 grand.

Anyhow, this little "gem" tickled my ribs...
