@LawrenceChard - was this a company treasure hunt gone wrong or did you simply not notice the change fall from your pocket? :D

It's take you a long time to dig that up:

"To his owner's delight and utter disbelief, Ollie instinctively dug up a total of 15 gold sovereign pieces likely dating back to the nineteenth century"
Fake News - the gold coin i can clearly see the obverse side of is a newish Elizabeth head.

Don't want to spoil the fun but another visible coin had George's head on it and the coin which is right below the Elizabeth's one seems to be Victoria's portrait so perfectly plausible that some were 19th century...

Yes indeed but being a nit picker playing with the words i will say the article doesn't say some dated back or the oldest dated back to the nineteenth century  - it said a total of 15 sovereigns dated back to the nineteenth century. i will say the article at least strongly implies all of them dated back that far.

"a total of 15 gold sovereign pieces likely dating back to the nineteenth century"

The get out is the use of the word 'likely' - this is not an absolute - it is a probability and leaves it open that potentially none of them dated back that far.
Possibly Lawrence had misplaced his eye piece that day or he was otherwise engaged on the big wheel and a trainee saw the coins. We could write a book about the day Ollie the dog found the coins.

I thought this article was about @LawrenceChard had gone MIA. Glad to see he's still about, tending his precious marrow and melons in his sacred garden!

Central bankers are politicians disguised as economists or bankers. They’re either incompetent or liars. So, either way, you’re never going to get a valid answer.” - Peter Schiff

Sound money is not a guarantee of a free society, but a free society is impossible without sound money. We are currently a society enslaved by debt.
