1/10th Brit variation?

Hi all I was looking at my coins and found something I want to run past your guys, I have two 1/10th Britannia gold coins one is a 2020 and the other is a 2018 but they are different from each other which is making me think one may be fake.

They both weigh 3 grams and the both have the same Britannia and queens head but the 2020 is ever so slightly thicker than the 2018. The 2020 has a sharp ridge or lip on the edge of the coin that you can feel grab your finger if you rub the coin with your thumb the 2018 doesn’t have this it’s smooth.

Also the coin edge edging I think that’s what It called on the 2020 is sharp where as on the 2018 it’s rounded.

both coins have been tested with a magnet and neither stick.

Not an expert but... Specific gravity test should tell you if they are same purity? Otherwise you need a sigma tester to test purity. Spot is spot so if it’s gold it’s gold, just depends how much is in it so real or not at least if it’s same gold content then it is less of a concern? Not that I would be happy about it if it was me.

Both were bought from two individuals on the same Facebook forum one was from a dealer the other from just a member but I can’t remember who sold me which coin. I live in London so might take it do a dealer to have them tested maybe Hatton garden metals.

It looks like the press may have been set incorrectly for the 2018 coin causing it to travel further than it should have, giving it more compression onto the gold.

I think you might be right as it seems more impressed on one side than the other.
