Interestingly the Nazis were the original ‘populists’ the name used for trump and the brexit party today. Now I am not saying they are the same but the parallel of appealing to all aspects of society is an interesting comparison.

There are always fools that don’t get the political spectrum however.

My grand grand mother was interrogated by gestapo and later on by nkwd. Gestapo took her nails off in process, but she was able to speak about it, she didn't want to speak about other questioning and look very bad when you mention it. She only said "germans are the same as soviets but more civilized. Russ are animals." I also meet Auschwitz survivor and he hated communist much more. I have a lot more story's like that, but studding germany history form books had to be very fascinating so real and in perspective.

Sounds like universities are not what they used to be...sigh. Probably similar to certain ones over here, where genuine academics are shouted down and deplatformed. Western civilization is undergoing a crisis and no longer reproducing genuine minds and talent.

What you describe for National Socialism - that it was meant to appeal to people and therefore put in the word Socialism, is true for International Socialism too. The only new thing he did was using the language of science as the zeitgeist at this time required that.

They have different scapgoats and therefore kill different people, that's the difference. There was an event of the former SED party, now called die Linke, in Germany, where someone said they will kill the 1% of the rich. A high ranking functionary didn't recject it straight away and so did no one else, in the audience. He then said, well, maybe taking away their possession is enough. There is the same concept of an eternal enemy that needs to be overcome, as said before.

The fundamental problem in my humble opinion for so many problems is this:

That things shall be done, be it for good or bad onto others, because the person doing it believes he or she is so god damn right doing it. Instead of changing oneself one strives to change others, and for all recorded history this has never worked, yet it is still being tried.
