In 2013 the Royal Mint introduced the lunar privy marks to the Britannia's to celebrate the chinese new year but these were originally for the US market. There has been lots of different desgins since it was first introduced and proofs have also had different designs for different years

I missed one off... the special edition 2013 1/4oz Britannia S.S Gairsoppa privy. Although ive not been able to get hold of one. I dont think these were released in th UK. If anyone has one for sale please let me know?

The mintage figures are available via Wikipedia..

The orignal (958 Britannia Silver) coins were released as BU, I cannot recall ever seeing them referred to as 'bullion' until 2013 when the mintage stopped being capped. Up until then the RM issued a specific number based on the previous years demand.

It's interesting to note the mintage figures for the early proof versions - exceptionally low and rarely reaching the issue limit. I have never quite got my head around just how cheaply you can buy the older proof sets. Sometimes cheaper than the single 1oz proofs 😶
