‘1942’ sovereign

Panicbuying

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I bought a couple of bullion sovereigns the other day from a respected seller and noticed that one of them clearly showed the year 1942 on the front... I contacted the seller and they ‘thought it was a re-strike and definitely passed the gold test’. They were happy to exchange it, but was wondering if I should keep it as an oddity? Any thoughts?

Cheers,

P

Respected seller...thought it was a re-strike?

Oxymoron.

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

Middle East or Indian forgery possibly. Might even be 24 carat.

I've got quite a few similar to this in good state (they are real 22 & 24 carat gold). I'll dig them out and take a photo. Received during wedding and kids births (customary with my asian heritage)

Why do people gift a copy of a coin with the same amount of gold/ same price as buying a real one?

in most cases they don't know the difference - they are just buying the gold content!

Ive got 1/4 and 1/8 "sovereign designs"!
