Couple of moderns today in a switch from my normal Young Heads, still sticking with my current bias towards graded coins given they have shown a drop in premium and value compared to bullion coins
The IRB from @arshimo2012 🙏 and the SOTD off Bookface

arshimo2012 reacted to ZRPMs in Got a few more pennies to spend on the sovereign collection, Still looking for these dates if anyone's selling any of them.
Once again. A little frightening asking the question whilst we are at golds ATH. However, still looking for my missing dates and mints. I'm down to 33 sovereigns required excluding the Rare + sovereigns (List 2, 30
sovereigns) according to the rarity rating in the 2021 The Gold Sovereign Series book as revised by Steve Hill.
They are as follows:- List 2
George III, 1817, 1818, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1819-R5,
George IV, Bare Head 1827, 1830 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Laureate 1823-R3, 1825-R3, Bare Head 1828-R4
William IV, 1831, 1833, 1835, 1836, 1837, ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1830-R4,
Victoria, Shield London mint, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1839-R2, 1841-R3, 1874-R4, St George & Dragon 1879-R3
Young head Melbourne mint Shield 1885, St George & Dragon 1872 ----------------------------- --------------- Young head Shield 1880-R2, 1883-R2, 1886-R3, 1887-R3
St George & Dragon Young head 1871 for the Sydney mint, Old head St George & Dragon London mint 1897 ---- Jubilee head St George & Dragon 1887-R3-7
Edward VII, Melbourne mint, 1908, 1909, 1910,
Sydney mint, 1904,
Perth mint, 1904,
Canadian mint, 1908, 1909, 1910,
George V, London mint, 1916, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1917-R3
Melbourne mint, 1912, 1916, 1919, 1926, 1930, ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1920-R2, 1921-R3, 1922-R2, 1928-R2-7, 1929-R3-7, 1931-R2-6
Sydney mint, 1919 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1920-R6-7, 1921-R3, 1922 R3-6, 1923-R4-6, 1924-R3, 1926-R3-6
Perth mint, 1925, 1926, 1927, 1928, 1929,
Canadian mint, 1913, 1914, 1918, 1919, ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1916-R2
South African mint --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1923-R2-3, 1924-R2-3
Elizabeth II, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1993 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1953-R-2
All listed dates and mints are common to rare, (except list 2 which are rare+) in The Sovereign series book (Michael A. Marsh, Revised by Steve Hill). Quite a good book by the way for those collecting Sovereigns.
I'm happy to consider any of the above. I have a limited budget so please don't feel offended if after I have bought a few I tell you I may need to pass go a few time before I can start spending again. I may not be able to check back immediately to any replies but will answer any posts or messages as soon as I can. Kind regards.
List 2 Is really unobtainable, with the best I could hope for is up to R3. The list being classed as follows :-
R2 - Very Rare
R3 - Extremely Rare
R4 - 11 to 20 examples estimated to have survived
R5 - 5 to 10 examples estimated to have survived
R6 - 3 to 4 examples Known to exist
R7 - 1 or 2 examples Known to exist
Last picture of the sovereign collection. A few more have been added.
Coins in red have been bought during this wanted post. Many thanks to those that have helped in the acquisition of them.

Hope everyone is well.
Prices inc special delivery UK, will post worldwide at buyers cost, choice and risk
For sale:
REDUCED: 2024 5 Sovereign - PF69 Ultra Cameo (In my opinion, worth re-submitting to NGC for re-consideration). £2950 £2750ono Low mintage of only 460. A PF70UC sold today (16th May '24) on Coin Cabinet for around £3660 inc fees+delivery. Update on the 2024 5 Sovereign:
Genuinely, i see nothing wrong with it or why its got a 69 rather than a 70. Hence my comfort sending back in if needed
I've attached a few more detail photos below. I've zoomed in on the 12 o’clock area on the reverse as that looks like a couple of hairlines, its not, its fluff courtesy of NGC gloves in the slab. they grade by eye / small magnification rather than the huge magnification here, i wonder if they have mistook their fluff for hairlines. I will be cracking it and resubmitting it at some point if it doesn’t sell but i‘ll probably wait until i have a few other things to send in.
2024 2 Sovereign - PF70 Ultra Cameo. £1100 ono. SOLD . Also low mintage of 810. One sold today at the dame sale for around £1300 inc fees + delivery. 2024 1/4 Sovereign - PF70 Ultra Cameo. £210 ono SOLD Also relatively low mintage of 1460
2023 Coronation Sovereign - PF70 Ultra Cameo. £600 ono Sold 2023 1/2 Coronation Sovereign - PF70 Ultra Cameo. £330 ono Sold 2023 1/4 Coronation Sovereign - PF70 Ultra Cameo. £210ono Sold If someone buys all three 2023 coins you can have the box and cert etc, if not then I'd take £20 on it plus post Sold 2024 Box, certs etc available also. £20 on it plus post Sold. Little and often. Builds your core stack.
My "best value" gold bought in the good old +3% over spot from HGM has nicely doubled and a bit on top, also some lovely always reasonable purchases from @arshimo2012 here on the forum in the early days.
Good foundations always make for solid decisions
As i learn, I'm now " quality over quantity " pf70 coffins of big gold 5sov or 2oz gold
Hopefully 3-4 large perfect purchases a year will pay dividends in my twilight years in a few decades time
Some Perfect proofs are at bargain prices at the moment.
My last £5 five sov memorial sovereign pf70 for £3000
Less than RRP ! These are totally stunning
I'll add it with the others and worry about the current dip in a 25years time
