My priority was the 1/10th 2008 Brit but seeing as I was paying postage anyway, thought I'd pick up a 2010 and 2 X 2014 1/10th Libs.  I will be opening up the Brit so I can store it with the others although it is a shame to have to break open the Mint packaging.

Just came home to find this posted through my letter box.  It's a 2014 Smithsonian Panda Medal.  Only available in slabs but I didn't want to fork for a 69 or 70.  Came via the eBay GSP but eBay didn't charge VAT even though it was over the threshold.  At some point is was cut open by a monkey and the blade has gone all the way through both sides of the envelope.  They've taped one side shut but forgot about the other side and also failed to apply the "opened and resealed" label.  Luckily the coin was still inside.
Just had a parcel sent to NZ via the GSP.  The parcel was opened for inspection and they used a knife to open the box seal which also went through several layers of bubble wrap and then into the product.

I really like these and like that they are sealed, yet I'm so tempted to take one out... just to check it out.

Today my dad gave me his collection of shillings and florins which he managed to collect when he was a bus driver. He retired two years ago and I remember when he used to swap his own change for one of these because of the silver content when these were still in circulation back in the eighties.

2 oz silver medal panda monkey , second  in series ,mintage 499.

After 15 months of looking actively for this set, or the kilo set which I missed recently from Germany, the last 2oz proof coin to complete my date run is now in my collection

Platinum Platypus arrived that I bought last week.

This 1 oz coin is first in series on Canadian Salmonids. This is the Atlantic Salmon. Also received the subscription box with this coin.

This week I have received 10 2oz Turtles from STG (beautiful coins), 5 Mixed year half sovereigns from Atkinson's and 4 Half Sovereigns from Sovereignsteve. Thanks again to Steve for my first shield halves.
Dates of the half sovereigns - Top row (from sovereignsteve) 2002 shield, 1892 shield, 1898, 1912. 
Bottom row (from Atkinson's) 1911, 1905, 1897, 1897, 1901. 
Now I am broke until around March-ish but it was worth it

Hi Lindeman - afraid not - the Congo gorilla minted by Scottsdale and come vacuumed to the Scottsdale packaging in a cap - took one out and left the rest as received
