Get back to us in 2 months. You’ll be buying what you like-gold,silver and anything else with a pretty design/feel. Your plans will go to pot when you see a bargain, a decent trade or limited edition silver buttplug. It’s the learning curve. You’ll be on Bully’s mailing list, blame Trump,Brexit, Covid Jabs, Preppers, WEF, Aliens, The earth is flat with your special tin foil hat etc etc and NBS is the gospel truth.
I couldn’t tell you what I’m collecting because I get whiplash from Shiny deals.
All I say, is buy something gold regularly. That’s it.

Sorry to disabuse you of your understanding of how tax authorities and dealers work, they already have all of your information and would provide to HMRC if asked. Your bank / credit card leaves an immutable trail back to you.
The passport is simply to fully identify you as part of KYC rules.
Move dealers but it won’t make any difference.

It is fairly unlikely that they are feeding your information to the HMRC, if you are a normal person transacting normally.
If you use the search function you will find extensive and conclusive explanations of HMRC reporting from a dealer and others.
It sounds like you are stacking - you might want to simply save up for Sovs which have a low premium and are highly liquid.  Just my opinion.

The search function is very useful and will allow you to access a vast body of knowledge accumulated since 2014.
Lots of the info on TSF can also be found via Google.

Happy to answer but have you used the search function?  You will find a great deal of discussion on this in previous threads.

For most of 2015, silver was in the $15 range.
If you bought vat 'free", it was possible to buy cheap silver.
But you had to buy sensibly. My spreadsheet shows Brits around £15/Oz which I could sell for double now?
Also, Kooks and Koalas same price. Beautiful coins.

You would loose it. I met Dave for a beer once, he would easily win whilst screaming "silver is not a hedge".
Great bloke, we have just taken different paths that's all.

TSF is a forum where you can ask anything about PM’s, Coins etc and people will not talk down to you, but will help - even if the question has been asked a lot before.
My advice is to build up reputation through purchases and sales, and also being a decent forum member.
Trusted members here are rock solid, and I have had just brilliant experiences dealing with people - so it’s worth the effort.
If you are not sure what you are buying or selling please ask!  Better to be safe than sorry.  It is better to ask before you buy something or sell something rather than being called out for selling something counterfeit.

So facts are negative?   Wowers you have gone woke in your old age  🤣
We have clashed before over this subject and I'm not out to upset anyone for their  poor finical decisions  or dance over their dreams and hopes, we need more people with critical thinking to question everything, I know I'm going  to open myself up for attack by even saying this but I'm thick skinned enough to take a bit flak.
There is a lot going for silver bullion just not financial ones.   I have silver and I still buy it from time to time as it's a great hobby to collect low cost cheap coins.
We have loads of silver stacking finical experts on here so this question should be easy.
Can anyone here show me how silver is a good store of wealth over a sustained period of time and can you show me it's a hedge against inflation? And I'm genuinely happy to someone to prove to me it is, because if you can we are all winners!

I think you are referring to your wanted post and I would like to offer some suggestions.
The forum operates on a reputation basis. If someone with a good reputation offers advice, and they have been here a while, it's probably good advice.
i.e, state what you are willing to pay, it saves on email ping pong 😊
It's probably not a good idea to offer less than spot price for gold, especially on a fractional piece.
    Stick around and enjoy it.

    Hello Bipolar,
You have actually fallen on your feet!!
You have made your mark, you have received advice from very experienced members and they will always help.
But we all have different personalities and once you have been here for a while you will understand them.
Don’t give up on, either in this space or your stacking it will be a wonderful thing for you.
Finally, have you thought of keeping your silver as the basis for your future stacking? Probably most members hold both.
    All is well 💛

Bully is full of daft jokes and likes a good (and often very rude) laugh.  Definitely no offence intended in his post so lighten up. There's also a certain etiquette on here that if you don't like or agree with a post you just move on and ignore it rather than firing up and kicking off Facebook style.  All the regular members on here get on very well with each other and If you stick around for long enough you'll eventually come to understand how this place works. It's quite a tight knit community and a whole lot different than all your other bog standard places like Facebook, Twitter etc
