The 1917 London sovereign is very rare. It's not beyond the capabilities of an unscrupulous seller to 'modify' the mintmark of a colonial sovereign to give the appearance of no mintmark suggesting a London mint issue.

Perhaps it's simply an index- no denominations i.e £ or toz but 10 x, 100x etc.? Well, I was hoping someone would tell me! What caused the drop in c.1968? I think it's saying 100oz of gold would buy a house in 1955 and also in 2020 whereas in £ it's gone up 100 times?

The trouble with silver is that there's so much of it about. Everyone on youtube seems to have 5000oz Everyone in the USA seems to have 2000oz (and the equivalent in lead) Some members on the forum have 10,000oz For that reason, it's £20 /oz

I've had the time today to look into this in detail. With respect to @CadmiumGreen Firstly, do not confuse the sponsor Rosland Gold with Rosland Gold UK. They are separate entities, albeit under the same umbrella. The rosland.gold website is accurate, descriptive and easy to understand. (even in German!)
