But at least this way you can accurately list them, would be worse you not to know list as perfect condition, then have an unhappy buyer and have to deal with that.

I didn't open them on arrival because I was about to move their location. I wanted to keep them in the packaging just in case the move "went with a bump" and figured the packaging would save the odd dent. Then I forgot about them and left them at the back of the safe.

Well I know some XRF machines will "see" through capsules or slabs but I don't know if they go through a wooden box.  Maybe a subject for someones youtube video in the future? @BackyardBullion

    All part of the adventure.
I'm quite enjoying the process of opening. There might be a 1oz gold coin in there! Ya never know!

    A definite schrödinger's cat event...
I've opened a bottle of IPA and started the opening.

    Correct.
I suspect the likeliest error is Obv / Rev die mismatch but others may be able other potential issues to look for.

If you wish to sale, put up a sales post. You may of course have the opposite effect, in trying to convince the buyer of what your selling.

Read it and write your own observations in your copy.
The most commented pages in my copies are (Not surprisingly) early Shield errors that are not in Marsh and the very incomplete die numbers on Sovs and Half Sovs.
I guess my message is that it’s an awesome guide but keep your eyes wide open!

Interesting idea, I presume you are referring to such situations as the " no date" 20p ? Of is this something else I should be looking for?

Fellow metaltard sees PMs as store of value, not investments. In the long run they preserve the purchasing power, not really make it grow.
Investments grow, produce returns - have a yield.
Therefore in times of economic growth he'd like to err on the investment side, so more PMs can be accumulated.
In times of stagnation (like now) he'd like to err on the PM side.

Well I suppose it depends on what your after, if its just a generic Sovereign you are after perhaps look to something like this:
    https://www.chards.co.uk/gold-bullion-sovereigns-secondary-market/1990
    Or other popular dealers

I have found a company who will insure bullion as well as coins. No idea on premium yet as will take me about a week to fill in the paperwork. Me thinks I might get one of those things you see in the films when a door is opened it releases a coloured dye all over the place.
Drastic could be fun. Police looking for two luminous green men.

If you “paws” for a moment to think about it, I’m sure the will be some “tail” you can come up with to tell how you could “ collar” someone who tries to “sniff out” you buried treasure’ or maybe I’m “barking “ up the wrong tree with my assumptions.

Thats a hellova lot of localised weight for a car, mate with a van or small trailer if you have a towbar.
Looks a cracker though and will be pretty smart when done up.

I bought the beast today, early xmas prezzie from the Mrs and I think a tacit agreement or at least acceptance of the stacking habit, im going to do it up and have it in the dining room, her only condition was to put a plant on it 🤷‍♂️.  Just trying to work out if i dare stick it in the back of my motor or if im better off paying for a courier.  The seller reckons its about 200kg.
