  1. i run mine similarly to others, as i mentioned in a previous comment i use excel and a accountancy book, for those that are interested book wise i use a " Collins Ideal - A6 Single Cash Book (Ref 411)" provides lines and columns so you can put seperate info.... in my case @ZRPMs Item number (everything gets a sequential number, so i can cross reference and label on item), Date purchased, Item Description, Gold/ Silver/ Other, My buy price (including postage etc as that what i have tied up in the item), Sale price (when i have sold an item)
  2. Sure the number on the card is 3147 86.... hang on a minute Is this safe to do 😝
  3. Interesting to see, people ask will we ever resort back to a gold standard and well according to the Kito article here: https://www.kitco.com/news/2023-01-18/Zimbabwe-s-gold-coins-now-cost-more-than-2-000-each.html Zimbabwes introduction of a gold coin to try and slow down the rate of inflation has been well recieved.
  4. Well I tried something different, and held a loop in front of the camera and cropped the image after, it's not by any means perfect, but I thought I would try 😅
  5. Thanks for the answer, sorry to throw of topic but thought it would add to, so I can get my silver gold to gold, but then also in focus sensible image for a 1/20 or whatever size coin
  6. I have seen some people mentioning about "macro lense" apps for phone use other than the traditional phone camera app. Do people have any particular recommendations (free) on android?
  7. May also have some joy if you put up a "wanted post" in the buy sale section. Giving the years you want and potentially the cost you expect to pay for it. May get a better appetite.
  8. But at least this way you can accurately list them, would be worse you not to know list as perfect condition, then have an unhappy buyer and have to deal with that. The power of hindsight 😅
  9. And then your hopes get shattered when their quality control let some slip through the net!
  10. If you wish to sale, put up a sales post. You may of course have the opposite effect, in trying to convince the buyer of what your selling.
  11. Interesting idea, I presume you are referring to such situations as the " no date" 20p ? Of is this something else I should be looking for?
  12. I use a small accountancy style book, so I can put date, item, where, how much. Its pocket size so I can then carry it with me if I wish. I also then number items sequentially as I add, this also then correlates to an excel document. I then put a tiny sticker on coin case so all things tie together. That's just me though.
  13. Looking better than other suggestions I have seen floating around.
  14. I do think people get caught up in the moment, don't do the maths and take into consideration the buyers fee's.
  15. @Bogart be curious to hear how the follow up goes.
  16. Wow, can't see how that would be acceptable as the head, seeing the other new coins
  17. Presumably you have or the family member has done some due diligence and attempted to test the coins? Size weight etc, only asking as it may help to settle the off feeling you had
  18. Where said they were sold out? On the RM page they simply said will not be available (conveniently only in small text) from there website after the 31st. They hadn't sold out of some of the coins by that point
  19. Hopefully said items turn up and it's not a scam. Not sure if the family member paid via Credit-card if so they may be offered some protection through it?
  20. Hello and welcome, as other have stated its a personal preference when I comes to what you stack, some prefer gold others silver other mix in different ratios. Lots of factors affect choice including of course budget.
  21. Well I suppose it depends on what your after, if its just a generic Sovereign you are after perhaps look to something like this: https://www.chards.co.uk/gold-bullion-sovereigns-secondary-market/1990 Or other popular dealers
