  1. I suppose it depends on where you are located? There is always coin fairs but generally they will know the value same as online dealers. Sometimes you can get lucky if you have a local coin dealer or even an independent jewellers and build up a bit of relationship with them to get reasonable prices.
  2. I suppose your budget would also affect the answer potentially. If sayfor example it was 1 half Sov a month or 1 Sov every 2 months, then the half a month gives you better potential for spread of cost (both up and down). As others have said both good coins, both easy to sell sov probably has slightly lower premiums than a half, but as long as your no rush to sell the coin then you should re-coop the premiums when that time comes.
  3. Works for me on Samsung, are you using chrome or Samsung Internet? Don't know if that will make a difference?
  4. Agreed, my point of view also, proof may hold a slight premium due to limit numbers produced, not sure that thr RM BU coin will hold much of a premium over RM bullion over time.
  5. Was going to say as @Skyfiller link iludes too: The Gold Sovereign by Michael A. Marsh
  6. That's ok @James32, I nearly made the same blunder making my statement. I will not tell @LawrenceChard about your typos I know that's a touchy subject. I definitely will not mention you also wrote u instead of I above 😝 I'm quitting while I'm ahead, I make enough typo's.
  7. Thanks @Wileyfox think that is the best answer and source of evidence for @arphethean to use. A description of bullion vs BU from none other than the RM. if a seller has chosen a deviation from these description without explanation that should be just cause as a "misleading" sale title.
  8. Well, wouldn't say competitive. Yes we'll listed items sell fast but that's the same anywhere. If you are looking for a bulk load of things at the same time then potentially put up a wanted add for what you are looking for. Clearly stating the type (or specific) coins you are wanting, the quantity, the quality and potentially your estimated price you wish to pay per item.
  9. Do like the description in the list though, condition= ungraded....while factual correct, may be an understatement!
  10. Yeah I think an auction on here may not achieve your desired price potentially, unless you started it at a minimum price you wanted to achieve? When you look at the premium over spot for these type of coin of course they appeal to a smaller market. Very nice coin though.
  11. I think what @Happypanda88 has said is completely correct, if there was a sudden drop in the price of gold, we are talking here a dip as apposed to the 'new norm' I'm sure most dealers would just stand fast and wait to see if it blowes over. How could they possibly afford to effectively give things away at a loss from what they bought it for. Longer time this may happen, but I think it would be a graduate drop as the some dealers will need cash flow and try to out bid each other while still maintaining as much premium as possible.
  12. I think he was saying, there is already a thread discussing the gold premium currently. People speculation as to why etc, so you could go and look on that thread as people may not want to repeat on here.
  13. Hello and welcome, look forward to seeing what goods you have for sale.
  14. Hmm I'm not an expert (or anything close to) but to my eyes it looks like a fake. 1)I thought the first thing to ware was top of the ear not the hair on this coin? 2) the "clean/deep definition on the front of the face looks off maybe lighting. 3) the lack of clarity on some of the text 4) the "overspill" on the top left of the 2nd picture makes it look cast 5) doesn't look to have milled edge (but may have been in a mount and warn). That's just few of the issues I see be curious to hear other thoughts though. Helpful to know what to look for. Maybe a others can offer opinions: @LawrenceChard @
  15. @shabs in short potentipotentially yes, always look at dealers offers they may be cheaper, but there often cheaper than dealer offers on this site. Have a look at the UK buy and sell page and see what offers are available. You can do this before buying membership if you wish, but some listing will be hidden. You can see previous completed sales to give you an idea of item that sold and price.
  16. @LawrenceChard So they are they are both fakes? If i decifered your enigma encoding correctly 😝 as they should both have an Au of 917 with a tolerance of +/- 3. But coin 2 has obverse (O) of 912 and a reverse(R) of 907 & Coin 1 has O of 912 and a R of 913 Making them both out of tolerance, and so fake? Genuinely curious so hear more! @James32 think we are both wrong did you get your coat?
  17. Yes, but I'm also starting to think it's also the only thing saving my wallet, and me living on beans on toast 😅
  18. Doesn't technically meet your criteria if 1oz coin but I do like the look of the 50 Pesos though.
  19. American ebay... 🤣😓 Some people enjoy the hunt though
