Ebay buyer started bank dispute after receiving two gold coins

My ebay scammer got to keep my coin and I was left £800 out of pocket. Despite the fact I had proof of delivery and the buyer left me positive feedback. They claimed the parcel received was empty. He must have thought of his scam after leaving positive feedback, it made no difference, ebay decided in favour of the buyer, Royal Mail didn't want to know either. -

The 2002, 2005 ,2012, 2002 jubilee and memorial sovereigns will always perform less well than the 1989 and 2017 sovereigns because there are bullion versions as well as proofs.

I would not be too concerned about so many one off reverse designs on the sovereign if it was exclusively for the proof version. Using the same design on the bullion sovereigns whilst charging x2+ for proof sovereigns is plain wrong. The RM has adversely affected the collectability of the Proof Britannias by doing so.

When it comes to grading I would only grade a coin if the cost of grading does not exceeds 10% of the coins raw value. So with regard to 1/10 proof Brits only the 2014 Britannia would meet my conditions. -

I think the normal proof looks better, and was a little bit cheaper Than the matte version. The five sovereign Mattes of recent years have depreciated in value and the normal proofs have appreciated. The only thing going for it is the lower mintage, but has the identical design, the RM has pulled off a clever marketing ploy. -

Agree would make an affordable gift and had the same idea. Bought 2 yesterday and 2 today, however RM cancelled one of my order for 2. Did not see any limit placed on the RM website for these coins. -
