  1. It might be worth checking out the York Stamp and Coin fair website and organisers as there are certain covid requirements and proof that are required for entrance tomorrow and Saturday.

My advice to anyone attending a coin show unless they have good reputation and know the dealers is to take cash. A small amount as have been mentioned might accept cards.

I hope this "new" fair is successful, Neil.

Even with the extra hour, I don't think I could get to Huddersfield before 9.30, or even 2.00!

How about organising a Lancashire Coin Fair?

I could make it to Blackpool, and it would be good to see you again.

    🙂

Thank you Lawrence, it would be nice to catch up.

Unfortunately , Lancashire is a bit to far away for us to run a show. I think that needs to be left to the local dealers to run. 😉

  3. The first major coin fair held north of Birmingham in 18 months, will be at Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield (HD3 3RH) on Sunday 31st October.  Public admission is from 9.30am to 2.00pm - £1 for adults and children under 14 free.  Over 35 Dealers of coins and banknotes. (This was previously the show run at Cedar Court Wakefield) The full address is:

    Cedar Court Hotel

    Lindley Moor Road,

    Ainley top,

    Huddersfield.

    West Yorkshire.

    HD3 3RH

    Exit 24 of the M62

The website for the show is www.yorkshirecoinfair.com and the contact email address is: theyorkshirecoinfair@hotmail.com

The full list of dealers will be updated at the beginning of next week on the website, dealers from London to Scotland will be attending.

Don't forget the clock go back at 2 o'clock on the Sunday morning, meaning an extra hour in bed.

You missed the "e" out of yorkshire. Go stand in the naughty corner!😄

    actually https://yorkshirecoinfair.com/

Do you know if there will be any covid restrictive entrance rules?

Thank you for spotting and correcting that, much appreciated. I will stand in the corner after I have written it out 100 times for detention. 👍

At present the covid restrictions are the same as at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury London coin fair and the Midland Coin fair. Masks are requested to be worn but can not be enforced. However if the government rules change before the 31st October the fair will adhere to whatever the current policies are at that time.

  5. To the coin fairs you can add, the Midland coin fair (Held at the motorcycle museum just off the M-42 near the NEC and Birmingham airport on the second Sunday of the month) the York coin and stamp show held at the racecourse is on usually around the third Friday and Saturday of January and July, this years shows were cancelled because of covid restrictions, figures crossed for January 2022.

The Wakefield cedar court show is hoping to get back going as far as I am aware, from October as the hotel is undergoing some renovation at present, so please check. This show is on the last Sunday of every month except December when there isn’t a show because of the clash with Christmas holidays. The venue is just off exit 39 of the M1 and if going M1 northbound, as you go off the slip road at exit 39 you can see the hotel from the slip road.
