I’m surprised how little this is suggested on here. I just see it as another way to stack silver and like you said there’s a bit of fun researching the hallmarks to see how old it is.
Anyone would think I play the spoons with the amount I’ve got. 😆

I didn’t receive these today but very recently.
Silver flatware can be a real bargain for those looking to stack silver for weight.
Three Victorian silver spoons, hallmarked 1853, weighing over 60g for 10% under spot.
They might not be anything special but they’re full of almost 170 years of history and they’re silver!!

But @dicker by that logic, if you don’t put them in a ‘capsule’ then you get another sovereign 9 months later?
You’ve just got on average 18 years to pay for it. 😆

Capsules.......... like a pair of socks shoved down your pants to make your stack look bigger than it really is  🤣

    Personally, capsules for everything.
I am a custodian, not an owner, and as such wish to preserve condition for the next owner(s)

Everything in capsules to prolong the condition of the coins.

1 x Irish Rock of Cashel 0.5g 24ct proof coin which is remarkable in detail albeit very small

I like these and will look forward to the 2021 version. Very well made and well organised.

To be fair, it was an easy sum but I did check to see which month they started minting and it was August so took 3 months off of the month/years calculation 🤣

That is true, too many versions a year definitely spoils the fun of collecting when it’s never ending.
I feel the silver britannia oriental series of just three years is very short. Maybe 5 or even 10 years would have been better.

I too have a few of these, the 2018, 2019 and 2020 version.
How sad that the 2020 version is the last. It’s been very short lived, that’s for sure.

Very happy to receive this 1930 Melbourne sovereign in the post today.
Now I just need to find a 1931 Melbourne sovereign, I might just have to save up first. 😆

I really like the Britannia oriental border range, I’ve got a few now. It’s a shame that the 2020 range is the last in the series. Very short after only just three years.

Today I received two silver Britannia’s from Sharps Pixley, 2016 and 2018. Not the biggest purchase and I had hoped for 2020 dates as they said they had them in stock but never mind, Silver is silver.

Yesterday I received a 1988 proof gold half sovereign. When it arrived it was a little under £3 spot than the price I paid.
    Very happy. 😊

@Nick1368 Very nice coins. I can’t comment on grading but I wish I could get my hands on one of The Gold sovereign books that you’ve got.
It seems to be rarer than rocking horse sh*t. 😆

I’m not sure where it was from originally as this one is second hand but like new.
